Neither are track tires, but as I stated, Nuburing Record Setters moved to SC6.

Think about that.

There are no MPSS4 in 18" this year so how do you expect them to fit a "unicorn" on your car?

I won't need tires for a bit (I'm on my winters and still have some tread on my summers).
I order from a dealer. I can only assume that people want things handed to them easy and don't do the work to obtain them. That's what I've picked up from comments aimed at me.

Again, considering they have been available for a year, Audi already moved off MPSS and went to SC6 in USA and there are plenty of RESPECTED THIRD PARTY COMPARISONS from Europe, it's rather comical to say they cannot be compared.

Besides they have DOT number stamped on side of tires. Otherwise most reputable shops would never even mount (major liability issues).

2 BMW dealers refused to install factory xenon Anti-Dazzle headlight housings in my car because they did not have DOT number on them. Ditto a leather dashboard from Europe because of questions about airbag compatibility. BMW NA wouldn't even answer any questions about it because of liability issues.

Neither has questioned mounting and balancing the SC6 on their Hunter Road Master Equipment, knowing that these are rarely seen in USA.
If the tires were readily available it wouldn't be work to get them.

Those are easy.

TireRack prices those MPS4S sizes to you + tax + shipping + fees at slightly over $1350.

Just to prove a point, I'll get you SC6 for $1100...even cheaper than CSC5P from tirerack to you at $1330 total.

How many sets would you like?

I am sorry that getting tires for you is not as easy as getting an Uber.

For months 20" 666m ZCP owners have not been able to get replacement tires and none have been available on TireRack.com.

Ditto 437m owners wanting 275/35/19 replacements.

Now they are in stock again, but plenty of posts about it.

I have never had that issue with SC6.

My last set were shipped out Saturday AM and arrived Wednesday AM.

So for me, it's been easier to find ANY SC6 Than it's been for f8x owners to find replacement MPSS tires.

So respectfully (even though you complain in every thread I post) I submit that it's easy.

Actually I would point out that TireRack.com has MPS4S in 275/35/19 priced at $314.00

As you can see in U.K., price is £244.98

Pound to USD exchange rate is currently 1.25 (been as low as 1.18 lately)

So = $306.25 USD = £244.98 * 1.25

Now take away the 20% VAT tax in EU.....

Pretty sure...well last time I looked anyway the Cup 2's are a streetable/track tire. Matter of fact they are original equipment tires on many high performance road cars. However, they're poor in the rain. So, Yes, I will more than likely "forgo the Cup2" tires in favor of the new Play Station 4's.

Last time I drove a set of Cup 2'S were on an M4 GTS in the rain and they preformed pretty well actually. Albeit temp was about 65 degrees. Thanks for the heads-up sport.

Differences in "designed for" and what will work.

I've driven Summer Tires in the snow.

Designed for it? No.

Most Comfortable feeling ever? No.

But being careful I completed what I needed to do.

The PS4S isn't even fully out yet. I'll wait until I see more reviews pitting it against the SC6 because what I've seen you post is the SC6 vs MPSS.

Nice! Thanks but getting them local to me saves me on VAT, shipping and installation cost. None of which I have to pay so I come out much cheaper.

How do you save on VAT by buying locally as all EU Countries require it?

And Americans don't pay a 20% VAT, but then again, looking at the prices......

Anyway, AUTODOC is a German Company so lost by your comment.

Again, why did Michelin not release data on KEY METRICS like wet and dry grip that MPSS lost to SC6 on which they claim great strides in their Press a Release.....while posting more mundane data - with deceptive graphs for Michelin Sponsored tests that supposedly the MPS4S won by 0.40 Seconds or 31 inches, ROFLMAO.

And why not test data showing improvement over a MPSS?

A blind man can see what's going on here.

I moved away from PSS last year because of availability and cost.

Considering the S04's can be had for considerably less I felt it was better alternative for daily use and some spirited driving. I concur they get greasy after 1 hot lap but that was expected.

I never ran Bridgestone before then but it introduced me to their brand and when the RE-71R dropped I picked up a set for track use. I feel the 71R's are a better comparison for the Michelin PSS and now 4S' and I think the 71R would still win out overall. The tread wear rating isn't identical although so is it a fair comparison? Not sure.

It's all speculation at this point since no one has a set yet that aware of. I focus less on the 'test results' or 'performance data' and simply pickup a set of what I'm interested in. If it's right tire for my use that's all that matters really as long as my wallet agrees.

I said I wish they would offer them in that fitment because there aren't many tire options in that size. You know, as in I'm aware they don't currently come in that size but, it would be nice if they did.

And I'm pretty sure the other guy was alluding to if they are a replacement for the PSS they will likely be available in the sizes the PSS is/was at some point but, not currently.

I agree with you generally ... however Is test data showing improvement over your own product actually impressive ?

Are you opining that it is it common for (tire ) companies to provide data over their previous model ? While many companies will say " the new blah blah blah ". is "X" percent better ... do they usually provide full specs and test data against their old product to show that improvement ?

I * believe * the RE-71R is one category higher at places like the tire rack.

I think it's Extreme performance for the MPSS and Autocross/track for the RE-71R.

Agree with your comparisons, I was shopping Bridgestone SO-4s as a serious bargain over MPSS last year. Saving $300 for a set of tires is simply a much better value with little tradeoff as you mentioned.

The RE-71R is absolutely the stickiest street tire out there currently and would be superior to 4s for performance driving and still should get you home in the wet. The MPSS would be better in temps below 50.

Is releasing test data showing improvement over your own product actually impressive?

Well, not if you want the fanboys who claim to be replacing MPSS at launch to buy.

And not if there isn't a real improvement.

And god forbid BMW would have not released spec numbers where a 340i could be compared to a 335i....

Besides, I haven't even seen data for key metrics on MPS4S as I have pointed out.

And if MPSS weaknesses where they lost to SC6 are not revealed with new model....what's behind the curtain oh great and mighty oz?

You get the point.

I was seriously about to go with RE-11 before I read all the 2016 European Tests.
