BMW will not "let you out of a lease". However, if you want to trade your M4 for an M5, a dealer would absolutely help you do that. A lease has a "buy out" associated with it. You're probably underwater, where the value of your car as a trade is less than what that "buy out" price is. They'll roll the difference into the new lease, maybe that's offset partially by whatever deal you can get on the M5, who knows. It is not likely to be a good deal, but is absolutely possible.

0% chance. BMW will never be this desperate lol.

You NEVER trade a BMW that is leased. Always, always transfer the lease. It is the difference of paying $3K upfront to reduce the payment vs $15K over 3 years.

Can you elaborate? Not sure if I follow. What's this point about $3k upfront vs $15k in 3 years?

The $15K was in reference to the increased payments from trading it in. As an example with a 750iL I had a few years ago;

Lease Inception Price $100K
Payment $1K

1 year later I decided to get an M5
Trade value $75K with buyout of $92K so -$17K difference

Swap a Lease listing at $1K/mo pricing and was gone in 5 days

If I had traded it in on my M5 lease it would have added $600/mo to the lease price and cost about $20K over the life of the lease.

Surprised there isn't more buzz around the new May leaase program, but loyal customers get 2 payment waivers (not deferrals) up to $750 on 5 series.

For the M5, that's an additional $1500 savings in addition to the $2000 lease cash.

I guess BMW figured, people won't be driving much for the next 2 months so if you were on the fence, it makes sense to pick up a car in May.

There is no pull ahead, at all. I can't remember BMW ever doing this. That's different than a dealer saying they will pick your last few payments up (which they probably would have put onto the discount for the new car anyways).

Not sure if it is a current program, but it appears at some point BMWFS offered waiving 3 to 5 lease payments.

If you really want to change from the M4, why not look into swap a lease? Or is your existing lease not something you think another person will pick up?
I took a bit of a bath on my F80 lease because I found a dealer to eat my last 4 lease payments on my 335i, but that was as much as I could get from anyone. I'm in the same boat, and itching to get into an F90, but I doubt anyone will get you out of 24 months. You need to hit up swapalease.com.

It would help if you provide the selling price/ Cap cost as well as the MF- you can plug the numbers in leasehackr and see if the numbers add up.

Try to get the selling price down to8-10% off and the MF as close to the base rate of .00118 and watch for add ons like VIN etching or protective coating and dealer fees.

Good luck, I am hoping to lease one as well in the next few weeks.

More seasoned members will be along to give you even more info.
