Wow. What are you like 16? You must be a real hit at parties impressing everyone on your tire knowledge. I bet the chicks really dig when you talk about contact patch and wet and dry performance. You're one of the biggest douches I've seen on here, but I'm sure you already knew that. What's the matter? Didn't get enough attention growing up?

I'll be mounting them to a set of brand new TE37 Ultras. I happen to be somewhat familiar with one of the techs that work there who is a Miata guy, and going to have him mount the tires while im physically there and watching. He told me there are a bunch of guys who I would DEFINETELY not want touching my vehicle, but I trust him since he is an enthusiat himself. I asked him if, given the right tech and patience/attention to detail/careful procedure, do they have the right equipment to mount tires without scratching the wheels; he told me that it's do-able. Forgot to ask for the model of their machine so that I could do my own research on it before taking him at his word. He also showed me the wheel weights that they use and the lower profile ones are going to work perfectly fine for me; they adhere to the inside of the barrel. Costco will sell you any size you want, as long as the load ratings are greater than or equal to the stock tire specifications. They don't touch studs whatsoever though, so I'll be bringing them bare wheels in the back of my truck and mounting the wheels myself once the tires are on there.

It lists them for me as well, but when I called a couple none of them are offering the PS4S yet.

I was going to order the PS4S for my daily driver but the wait was too long.

Ended up getting the Pirelli P Zero PZ4 tires which are more like PSS level tires. For my daily commuter, it should be fine.

Couldn't even think about getting these in a reasonable time frame. Hell, I've had to wait since before Christmas 2016 till now to get PSS rears for the VMR 19" wheels I bought back then (using stock 19" tire measurements from OEM configuration). I'm on my 3rd set of PSS on my third vehicle using them. Really, really good tires.

Yeah, I see that they JUST got them. Last week, they weren't even listed under my sizes or my specific model.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but graphs like the braking distance one really piss me off. They lead you to believe their tire is four times better than the worst performer, but the antual number is 10% different. That is still a difference of about a car length and could prevent an accident. But it is still dishonest.

Weird! Let me know if you find some.

I don't think they're going to make any in 17" wheels which sucks

I've had my MPS4S for about a week now and have put around 400 miles on them. They are superior to my old MPSS in all categories but one I was surprised is how much more dry traction I seem to be getting. I would spin my MPSS 285s in 3rd like they were nothing and that doesn't happen on the 295 MPS4S.

Just for everyone's awareness, these are now available from Costco, and for a significantly lower price than Tire-rack. I called to place an order yesterday, and the sizes I bought were readily available and in-stock; they should be arriving within a week. They are not orderable online yet thru Costco's websites, but any tire center tech can look them up BY NAME in the system to order them for you in person or over the phone. Have them search specifically BY NAME, as they currently WILL NOT SHOW UP if the tech searches by size.

Have them reference item #1146866 (PS4S in 255/35R19) or item #1146910 (PS4S in 275/35R19) if they need to see an example of the exact name/nomenclature to search by. Big thanks for M3_socal for thease item numbers!

See the first two pages of this thread for more details on how to purchase via Costco:

Same with Discount Tire. I got them from Discount INSTALLED for $100 cheaper than TireRack.

In general, they (the former MPSS and the newest addition, the MPS4S) were/are considered the best all around performer for an Ultra High Performance Summer Tire.

The only thing that I've seen that can actually compete with the MPSS/MPS4S are the Continental SC6 but I don't think you can get them in the US. As far as "Max Performance Summer" tires at least. There are definitely sticker "Extreme Performance Summer" tires like RE11, R888, AD08R, etc.
