Anyone experienced periodically bad smell coming from the enginebay thru the ventilation system? It is not an exhaust leak, i had one of the grommet on the strut out of position but that's fixed now. It got better after i fixed the grommet.

Bad smell still enter sometimes into the car This often occurs when the engine is at operating temperature and when i stop driving. I can recognize the smell when i stick my head into the enginebay when its running. Need help with this.......

I keep thinking someone farted or it might be ghost farts... but it goes away. Must be something with the exhaust fumes leaking into the cabin.

are you sure its not doing its purge cycle, its a diesel thing hehe?

maybe..... still it smells like crap. This smell should not enter the cabin if you ask me do bad smell enter your cabin under the purge cycle??

sometimes, it even warns about it in the manual. It kind of smells like burnt caramel, is that what your smelling? I have had it even do the purge after I turned off the car, which makes the fan run, and you feel a TON of heat come out of the car, and the burning smell with a tiny bit of smoke even.

Its not that caramel smell you describe i feel inside the car......
