You can do better...

Try $500 - $1000 over BMW invoice (check with these figures )

I paid $500 flat over confidential wholesale price plus DAG (ad fee) $200+$695 destination+$100 processing fee (mats, keychains and full tank included here)+ applicable TT&L....

Btw $149 for mats?? $259 for processing/documentation??? Why is licensing so high at $680???? ... you might want to question those items... Good Luck

I am guessing u are in the military, if u are u shouldn't be paying taxes on it and u qualify for diplomatic purchase. Floor mats are usually free at most BMW dealerships. I added it up with dip prices and it came out to 40148.00 w/o taxes and floormats. I hope this helps u out.

Like I tell everyone START FROM DEALER INVOICE: NOT MSRP.

You can get dealer invoice from Edmunds.

http://www.edmunds.com/new/2006/bmw/....html?action=1

You should try to pay between $500 and $1,000 over invoice.

I think your deal is still too high.

Comfort access is REALLY nice and I would HIGHLY recommend it.

He should throw in the floor mats, keyrings, valve stem caps and a full tank of gas FOR FREE!

Documentation is normally $50 to $100 so he's making money there to

There is also a $200 advertising fee that BMW charges the dealer.

Sometimes they add it to the destination charge of $695 and sometimes they add it to the documentation fee.

Have you tried any other dealers and compared them?

Good Luck!

Dealer Invoice

330xi Manual Tranny $35215
Monaco Blue 430
SAT radio 540
Cold Weather Package 775
Sport Package 820
Comfort Access 455
Delivery 695
Total $38930

Take this to your dealer and start from here.

If you don't want comfort access start from dealer invoice of $38,475 and not MSRP of $42,015.

Doc is different in every state. There is NOT a 200.00 ad fee to all dealers. some dont have it and some have it up to 400.00 . Depends on the franchise.
Destination is 695 period. on ALL cars in the US . NO other fees are attached to that.

@1553 you are basically splitting the profit margin in the car .

If the salesman is doing his job(taking care of you personally , being up front and honest about the deal, treating you with respect, professional attitude etc, knowledgeble about the product) then he is entitled to a fair profit by which he can make a decent living and not be a leech on our society like a f___ Ford or Chevy salesman.............

He will treat you like gold and will be there when you need him --- you wont have to depend on sites like this to get information about you new BMW.

marketman, YOU'RE WRONG!

My numbers are from Edmunds.

2 dealers told me there was a $200 BMW advertising fee.

Destination is $695 as I listed in the detail.

My dealer added the $200 to the $695 and showed one number= $895.

What are you talking about?

You don't even have an E90.

Well - maybe I know more than you think given I work in a BMW franchise.........

Just giving you guys something to think about....lol

Indeed - the "ad fee" you are talking about is done if a dlr PARTICIPATES in the ad co-op program . My dlr does not -therefore - NO AD FEE.

The $200 RGRAY is eluding to is the Dealer Ad Group fee (that we recently paid in our dealings with a local area dealership-NoVa, DC, MD)...just as marketman says. There are different pricing as per different regions, for e.g. from what I've seen CA markets are imposed MACO + Training fees which could add up in the $400s...we are just a little bit more fortunate to be in a region that does not require the hefty MACO/Training fees...

Also I believe RGRAY's figures are also as per BMW's Confidential Pricing sheet (from Bimmerfest), figures I based my very recent 325i purchase on...so they're good.

We're just here to contribute, inform and support, guys...USAF asked for our input.

A good deal is generally anything under $1,000 over invoice.

Also documentation/processing fee is dependent on dealers' policy...of course they are all different and different dealers will justify that number in different ways. We are just putting it out there that some dealers charge as little as $100 for this service and throw in mats, keychains and gas to justify it...from most posters, I see this fee ranging from $50-$350. In USAF's case, his CA is asking fo $260 and he isn't even throwing in the mats (which every dealer does almost automatically).

wash cars ? no - I have people that do that for me.

KL is right ..... and BMW puts on the "training service fee" which pays for the finest training any car salesman gets in the world . AND - Produces the most knowledgeble car salespersons in the world .( I know that doesnt apply to all dealers)

Come on guys --- Respect !

oh - Mats are free here - unless you are of that one percent of flaming assholes that dont deserve them .
