Describe your spirited drives from Austin to Houston?
I find that when I would take some "spirited" drives on the highway (which is mainly all gas pedal and some downshifts to slow down here and there) I feel like my brakes also have less "bite" to them. Although they are warmed up - CCB's I have learned take warming up on their own... pumping them. some quick stops here and there when its safe to do so. I have 22k miles on my car and the only time they don't stop as quick as I'd like is when its raining heavily - or in the morning and I first pull my car out. My garage is air conditioned. Thats what I blame it on.

If you keep one foot lightly on the brake pedal for a while, you can preheat your brakes for those spirited drives. Maybe the next generation will have rotor heaters and, for steel brakes, squeal canceling noise as part of the active sound design system.
