Oh man you guys have it good. Over here in australia the base price for our launch F90 M5 are AUD $199 990, which is roughly $194k in CAD, or $152k USD. That isn't including the cost of registration etc on top either.

What makes you think the current engines are less expensive? There's a lot more parts and technology, parts and R&D in the current lineup, all of which is more costly to produce and get to market.

They tax the living shit out of Canadians.

It seems suspect.

I assume it's 5x112, as it has been on new models for the last couple of years.
First time I'm hearing of this. Where did you see this? The only thing I've seen is that Bmw has made 5x120 on all models but for larger cars like the x5 , the center bore goes from something like (3 series) 72mm to 74mm (X5) which then would make it too loose to use by itself( larger to smaller ). Of course the opposite way would not fit and would require custom machining to enlarge. But who wants 3 series wheels on a larger vehicle?

That is true. The majority of us pay between 13% and 15% tax on our purchases (including cars).

187 260€ here, which translates to 222 760$ (USD). Fast Google search shows that it costs 332 345$ in Denmark, just to give another example

Anyone else get an e-mail from bmw.ca to order one? Came with a link and invite code.

I'm having a blast with the Panamera Turbo S, not convinced I want to switch just yet.

lemetier said this a few months back when i mentioned putting the 343M's on the new M5, informed us that the new bolt pattern was 5x112 now.

No, but I got a voicemail from sales manager saying that he's got an allocation burning a hole in his paperwork.

Someone posted the US Military and Diplomatic Ordering and Pricing Guide showing that base price. That may not be the US retail price.

Stopped by my dealer and was forwarded the docs posted in this thread including a first edition pdf.

The sales manager told me they expect to receive the first cars sometime in early March but won't be able to deliver them before March 24th. The docs have this date as well.

I guess this confirms the North American launch date.

I spoke to him yesterday. Their (first) allocation is an HEA spec. They don't have a say in colour and equipment.

Because the new ones heavily borrow from the "regular" series engine whereas the previous M engines (V10 for example) were one-off M designs and builds. Way more R&D to dilute into way less production.

USA Price

The 102k price in US is the dealer invoice price. Now the MSRP may go higher. As Military/Diplomatic we get 10% off the 102k. The bad thing is we don't get all the option other can get like in Canada:

1MA- M Sport Exhaust
1MD M Carbon Engine Cover
*we must order under performance parts, and not from Factory*

4GQ- M Seat Belts
3DS - BMW Display Key
Sunglass Protection-(Rear Tinted Windows)

We cannot order since it's not on our Option sheet but in UK and Canada it is? So with price comes some small option we must purchase later.

The $102,600 price is the official MSRP, not dealer invoice: https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/usa/a...formance-sedan

That price is ridiculous. $113k base and you gotta pay extra for premium package and full leather.

BMW Canada as out of touch as always.
