Hi all,

Is it possible to utilize a pre-LCI ECU in a LCI m5? Reason I ask is I’d prefer to buy another set of ECUs, have them tuned and throw them in the car as it’s much cheaper to do so than having them unlocked. If anyone knows the answer and what consequences are of doing so I’d appreciate it.

Yes i believe so i know its possible on other Bmw models but you must clone the Dme’s wich are much more expensive than just unlocking the original Dme’s.

Get in touch with Femtoevo who does the cracking/clone/unlocking of the Dme’s.

Got it. Thank you, that makes sense. Will just ship out the original ECUs to femto then.

Great! i did unlock mine at Femto just took a couple of day to get them back but i live in Sweden.
