The car was bought as an AUC and is beyond the 3 free years of connected drive so do I just need to pay for a new subscription? Is this equivalent to getting a new 9c code?

9C Is FSC Code for BMW Apps, and you should have working BMW Apps now.

You likley need subscription for Internet preparation and BMW online.

Shame that I have a Galaxy S6 phone since that doesn't support the connected drive apps at all.

I would like to have RTTI and internet but paying £240 for connected drive is a bit steep.

Right, because you have CIC Head Unit.

Android support was added in NBT Head Unit, with 50.4 firmware.

Pretty sure I have the NBT head unit. I've got option 609 for professional nav.

Not sure which firmware level it is running though. Is that something I can update myself or does a dealer have to do it?

I am assuming the connected apps wont work based on doing a compatibility check for an S6 Edge here: http://www.bmw.co.uk/en_GB/topics/su...atibility.html and that says it isn't supported. The car also says it isn't supported when I try to use the connection assistant.

609 Nav Pro can be very old CCC Navigation system introduced in 2003, or CIC Navigation system introduced in 2008, or NBT Navigation system introduced in 2012.

That said, your photo shows you have newer NBT Interface.
