Radar/laser jammers?

What radar detector/laser jammer combo do you run in your F90? Pics of your setup? Hardwired or dash-mounted/windscreen-mounted? Any suggestions? Any stories? Looking at Radenso RC M + ALP jammers. Wondering if there's anything better/more seamless way to do this.

I have the radenso RC M + ALP. Only drawback is the cost - I think all in it was a little over $5k. Works like a charm, and totally inconspicuous. If do it again with any car i plan on owning for 5 or more years.

I mounted the control unit just above the sliding cup holder cover, below the auto thermostat button.

I also own a uniden r7 and a radenso windshield unit for my other 2 cars. For windshield i like the uniden more but have to disable K band entirely because it just can’t filter.

ALP is the only jammer to consider.

Where do you have your controller mounted? They're all just so ugly and I prefer the look of the K40 but apparently the system is useless.

Any ideas where you are going to stash the controller?

BMW grills are lousy for laser installs, too.

Except for the new 4 series. That might be the only positive about that large new grill. Laser sensors easier to install.

Happy with this location since the button that really matters in a bind is the left one and it’s easy to locate without looking just by sliding hand down the panel there. Doesn’t block anything and display is low enough i never notice it except when it is talking.

Nice. I'm pretty confident in the auto JTK function so I'm considering just hiding the whole thing somewhere to prevent messing with the aesthetic of the interior. I might wire it into the drivers glove box to the left of the steering column so if need be I can check on setting etc. but it's hidden completely otherwise. Thoughts?

@iranjha - I think you just want to make sure it’s easy enough to reach for muting whenever you pick up a cop or one of those speed reporting signs. Where i live the cops just drive around with their radar on even if they’re not speed trapping, so it’s a pretty regular occurrence to see a cop and then just want it muted. Especially with passengers in the car.

My installer typically installs switch in the glove box, if you get stopped just flip the switch and it powered off.

As far as install goes, I'm not sure yet ... but I usually have it inset someplace in a piece that is replaceable if I ever wanted to have it pulled.

Wow that's clean af. I ended up putting mine on top of my I-PASS transponder on the windshield. Didn't take up any extra windshield space and pretty stealth with no drilling. But that looks clean. How much $?

Radar detectors are perfectly legal in 49 out of 50 states.
They are only illegal in Virginia and Washington DC.

Laser jammers are legal in most states, with about a dozen or so that have laws against them.

This is my other car, a 2012 S63 AMG. It is in the process of a massive stereo install currently. As part of that install, we are adding an iPad Pro slide kit into the center arm rest, and have included custom controls for the audio volume, DSP presets, and the ALP control pad flushed into the panel.

The custom arm rest is not quite finished, but you will get the general idea from these photos. It will be painted piano black to match the car trim. The back of the iPad slider kit will be lined with Alcantara to prtect the iPad from scratching and also to provide a softer surface if the iPad is not in place. This custom console top bolts directly into the factory bolt locations of the OEM arm rest, and therefore this is 100% returnable to stock condition with ease.

Same. Been running Escort radar detectors for 25 years. Radar and laser jammer in my M3 for 10 years. Still works just fine. (Had to replace rear transceiver a few years ago. I think it lost it's watertight seal where the wire went in). Put the 360c and ZW5 in the M5 as soon as I got it. I'm pretty loyal to the Escort because of the lack of false alarms.

I like the fact that you can remove Zw5 jammer yourself in under 15mins....when you change cars...and it connects/alerts to the main radar unit

Since it's a lease, I slap a V1 on the shield. However, I just installed a great setup in my 458. Latest top line escort, hardwired w/ controls on overhead console w/ jammers front and rear. Note the latest unit has the arrows, like the V1.
