What do you want and for what purpose? Love my M5, but I never buy the same car twice because it is all about the experience to me. So 911, RS6 Avant, X5M, ZL1 1 LE or?
Doing a lease transfer on my M5 right now since I am not driving at all anyway and not sure if I will get anything different. |

If I were in your situation, I'd probably gun for the M8, R8 or 911. However, the M5 is a jack of all trades.
And to the comment above mine, I was originally supposed to get a 2019 ZL1 1le and a 2020 GMC HD. Ended up getting a 2019 M5 and 2020 X7. |

As noted above, it really matters what kind of utility you want and use. I have a 2020 M5 competition black black and it is awesome! My last car was a Z L1 with the A10 transmission. It was also black with all kinds of carbon fibre and I loved it! It was comfortable, fast and looked like the Batmobile. unfortunately the transmission gave out. However the A10 transmission is awesome in that car. I would not get a ZL1 1LE for street use as a daily driver--much better As a track car. How about a 992 Turbo S?

you won't go wrong with the R8. Not sure about if it fits you being 6"3
Had 2017 V10 plus coupe and currently have 2020 performance spyder very comfortable cars and perform very well. Much better value than 911. a well optioned 992 4S, you are close to 160 k , you can get a 2018 V10 plus for that money and it is a different league as far as fit and finish and overall performance |

I'd check out the 992 911. I'm 6'4" and fit very comfortably. It performs well 3.0 to 60 and 11.1 1/4 mile.
If you build reasonably you can get C2S around 135-140 and C4S around 143k-150k before any discounts off msrp and at this price car will have everything you could ever need and more. I opted for C2S bc in 992 model bodies everything is identical except for awd and 7300 extra. Same exact car but one has awd and one is rear. Performance is same, look same, same setup With engine in rear I never feel need for awd

Love the M5 and have no plans to sell it, but if it were totaled tomorrow, I'd take a very hard look at a fugly Panamera, probably the prior generation GTS, simply because the steering in the M5 is so awful.

Get a sports car. M5 is a great car, but with no children or spouse its a bit overkill for your needs when you can get something a lot more fun and still practical enough for your needs in the price range. Like others have said, a 911 is always a fantastic choice.

I did some serious analysis and thinking before buying my F90 M5 (non competition). I’d buy an M5 again, easy choice. This is why -
1. I cant grab a Panamera, as it is simply too long to fit in my garage. 2. A smaller sports car with less haul space will not fit my needs for space for family on my trips, so I could use it less. 3. The competition is too firm in my opinion - the base M5 is perfect for my needs (and for the roads i drive). 4. It is a simply a darn good allrounder super-sedan with plenty of opportunity for fun. |

If my car got totaled tomorrow, I'd go back to AMG. A C63s coupe or the AMG GT R coupe. Before I got the M5 I was close to pulling the trigger on a C63S coupe but the lack of rear space was killing me.

So why would you go back then? Why not a sedan or the e63?

As weird as it sounds, I have lost almost all taste for high priced vehicles. I owned S600 Lorinser, 911 S, Cayenne TT, a few AMGs Brabus, Audi Ss, and bunch of others in-between, all modded... now believe it or not, I'm more excited about the bang for the buck I'm seeing with some Korean manufacturers. I just don't know what happened, my financial situation is as good as it was before, but I'm no longer pumped about driving $100K+ cars... Same thing with watches, as I make my move from Big Bang's to understated Explorer. Hell, I'm even liking some Tudors now. Maybe I'm getting old at 40, but I don't think that's it either. Maybe COVID got me rethinking sh!t, and because now I have to hire private teachers for my daughter, since I'm not sending her back to school...
A $150K+ pool? Now that's a different story! Last edited by bMm5w; 08-04-2020 at 12:01 AM.. |

Hmmm.....I need 4 doors pretty much or else I'd probably go M8. I'm not a particular huge fan of the M8 GC, either.
Maybe the 4-door AMG-GT or maybe the S7.... When it comes to 4-door performance cars and bang for the buck, choices are limited. AMG's just lease so crappy and I have to lease for business purposes. Panameras, too. Maybe I won't be into speed in another year or two and will just settle for a S560 or 7 series. I'm just always in a damn hurry or behind or procrastinate and need to get where I'm going ASAP. You don't necessarily look like a douche driving that way in a performance car but will in a S560.
