So is the 2nd post supposed to cover the lack of depth on the first post?

LOL--- we all know that the soundless P100 is fast to 100 and beyond.

As to the first post, I was bushwacked today from a dig! At about 100mph I was clawing back--all on a closed course of course.

The Tesla site indicates 0-60 in 2.4 sec. for this car... so the result was not surprising.

It's funny but almost every time I see Tesla 0-60 stats posted, they seem to include 1ft rollout—is it just me that's noticed this? Dragtimes' Brookes does it, too— he did the same for the Taycan when he overlaid the 0-60 time on the video thumbnail. This isn't the norm anymore. Sensationalizing anyone?!

Here's my M5's best 0-60. Note the difference between the 1ft rollout and regular time.

In that drag race and every other run I've seen for both cars, my daily driver setup would beat them both convincingly.

That daily driver tune you run would destroy the Tesla and Taycan.

The “rollout emergence “ is interesting. Manufacturers do not use roll out in their ratings.

It comes from sanctioned racing because of the timing equipment requirement with the beams used. 12” is a minimum and some tracks use more for marketing. More rollout = quicker times = Dynojet marketing. Heck, I’ve raced at some tracks with a shortened length. Marketing. A negative with beam measurements is the trap speed is not actual. It is an average of the last 66ft. So it is always lower than actual terminal speed.

All major Magazines use roll out now. I think that is what is spreading the use of it.

Now vbox and Dragy have rollout metrics.

Thanks.

So many potential customers are influenced by these numbers but are inadvertently making an apples-to-oranges comparison.

Without using launch control or racing gas my money is on the Tesla from dig to around 100mph. They have 740+hp and trq available from the start. After that you would put the hurt on the battery mobile

Yeah

Now, these cars have about 150 hp more , they should be faster, electric or not.

That Taycan is lovely, glad Porsche have shown Tesla how to make an electric car.

If I'm in 8th cruising, yup—you're bang on, I just can't get the gear I need quickly enough. If I'm in say 4th and we're already playing, I fall behind a half car length for the first 2 seconds or so and then pull convincingly past them and it's no contest from there.

From a dig and with the 2020 transmission changes, I can get launch control shift behaviors (QS3 or quick shift—that's the special shift it does in LC) without needing launch control. I require MDM, the smallest of brake boost and then manual shifts but the shift behavior and more importantly speed is exactly the same as LC—19s do not do this. I'm able to nail consistent 2.68s through 2.75s 0-60s in this mode. 2.57s and 2.59s are only achievable in full launch.

150 more than stock maybe.

On a Mustang dyno with my JB4, my slower 2019 F90 Comp consistently put down 750 all-wheel ft Ibs of torque and 715 all-wheel hp. My 2020 is considerably faster but I didn't have the chance to dyno her and she's sadly going to a new home next week.

I think most of us who are modified are right there as well...def drivers race in the first half the track against the high end teslas.

And for all the discussion of the Model S's fleetness, it is incredibly fussy to achieve its max-acceleration times. It must be fully charged, and using the Ludicrous Plus mode requires preheating the battery for 45 minutes. After the initial hero run, the Tesla's times fall off quickly, slowing to the point that we were jotting notes while waiting for the quarter-mile to arrive."

Tesla has one Hero run in it if properly pampered.

Tesla's work twice then go into limp mode. They also are dogs 60-130

Plus the paint drips and huge misaligned gaps are a problem LOL

I got my car's break in service done this past Friday. And on Saturday, while heading back to my job site, I saw a Model S coming up hard and switching lanes. I felt like he was trying to catch up to me. So once he passed me, I dropped the hammer. I left him twice. At the light, he gave me a thumbs up and we resumed normal driving. 😅

Obviously he's emptied the batteries trying to catch up with you
