Oh nice numbers Mister.
92 octane plus 20oz of Klotz which, if their claims are to be believed, adds 2psi and change. On the topic of Klotz, I'm a believer—I don't think I've concluded that of any other brand.

As it stands, I'm running a tank with no octane booster hence my earlier comment around being uncertain if 5.5 feels right. Terry reviewed logs and didn't call anything out but I'm not convinced yet so may end up with 5 flat

I have a 20oz metal bottle of the stuff in my trunk so that may become my normal fill up additive.

92 here (but with octane booster for that run I think—I'm uncertain because I've been going back and forth to get a sense of how the car feels. I originally thought that run was flat 5 but when I went into the JB4 the morning after it was mostly at 5.5 as described earlier so I'm assuming I must've had Klotz in the mix... ugh, me again brain).

I should also emphasize that not only did that run yield amazing numbers, it also felt just as strong. For the launch, I used full-on launch control letting the car do its thing, when it shifted to 3rd I literally shrieked at how hard she pulled—I don't usually do that.

I’m going to try a bottle of Klotz if it adds 2psi.

Awesome ride btw !

Vic, have you happened to see 93 or 100 oct pumps anywhere near us? There used to be one off the 405 near Laguna but that was years ago.

Newport 76 on San Miguel is prob the closest.

They got 100.

There is a Corona Del Mar Chevron that might have too but I cant confirm.

Sure. 5 psi from 1500 rpm through 3000. Then 5.5 through 6000 rpm and 5 psi at 6500 and 7000 rpm.

Again note: the stock JB4 firmware doesn't work on 2020 M5 Comps (possibly non Comps, too, I don't know for sure on that one). This run was on firmware I got from Terry in an effort to fix what he referred to as changes to boost targeting in 2020 models.

Note also: I'm still not convinced that 5.5 feels quite right without octane booster—still tinkering—so I may lower my daily to 5 flat or just get used to adding 20oz per tank.
im confused.
are you referring to 5psi over request?

Likewise, I wasn't aware of that change until I was chatting with Terry due to 'implausible boost target' errors.

No boost reduction in 1st, 2nd or 3rd--doesn't need it so far.

I had to up boost safety to 27 to stop it triggering valet mode--this is one of those changes where I spend days carefully monitoring the end result through logging and feel. <-- * THIS IS RISKY; DO SO AT YOUR OWN PERIL **
