Just came back from BMW probably gonne order next week or the week after. For now im on Marina Bay with red breaks. The default blue ones have a slightly diffrent bluetone. Didnt look right for me. Wiht all the corona stuff going on they have pretty good offers here atm.

Probably hard to make a clear comparison because prices in switzerland vastly differ from USA.

When will you car be built?

Got the production number today and it is scheduled for week 39. Dealer says it will arrive 5/6 weeks after that. I’ll keep everyone posted. Pumped!

Is it normal to check the bmw site in the morning and at night to see if somehow week 39 got pushed 8 weeks up. Ha! Been awhile since I’ve been so excited about a car.

I wonder how long it will be until some of the first test drive reviews come out. I’ve read about some improvements regarding the tranny that carried over from the M8 that was improving some 0-60/1/4 mile times. Apparently, they started putting them into the later 2020s and it was a difference maker.

For those that have a M5 or M5C right now, what are your favorite combination of settings for M1 and M2? I understand that when you first start the car (M0), it defaults to all of the most comfortable settings which I may use on long trips but definitely want to have one of settings to get the best 0-60 and probably have another favorite setting.

Another question for the forum, any tint shop recommendations in SoCal? Is the factory tint in the back windows 20%? I’d assume match the fronts to 20%? Any suggestions on shops and % for the fronts.

I love the frozen colors, but kids and lack of time to maintain so I went with Brands Hatch and full black interior.

I'm a first timer as well, should land in the US next week, then just wait for the port install options I ordered. Coming from an RS7 so can't wait to see the difference 😊

I ordered my car in March before covid shut down dingolfing- huge delay, and now status which was "in transit" for the past week or so now changed to "at the port"... the sad part is that my car is a 2020... id have loved for it to be an LCI, but at no point during this waiting game/process was that given to me as an option. I didn't think ordering would even open up before September. Sad to think it's on a boat with a bunch of refreshed 2021's. Sigh.

Sorry to hear that, completely understand! May be you could share with the dealer that you would prefer to have the 2021 LCI model for the obvious reasons. Worth the try, regardless you are going to love it. Good luck

I've gone with Motegi. Dealer had an M8 in the showroom in it, and looked awesome - red in the shade, but with a slight orange tint under direct sunlight. Special but not too bold (for my taste anyway!).

Mine is Motegi with Silverstone interior. I loved Motegi, saw it on an M8 and I just sold my Sakhir Orange M3. My car has been 150 for 2 weeks now...;..aaaaaargh, the wait is killing me!

Technically all you did was put an order in with a deposit. If you really want the 2021, put another order in for a 2021 and ask for the deposit back. Will be another 2-3 month wait but might be worth it.

this is what i was thinking too. Hopefully the dealer would be cool with applying the deposit to the new order, but I suppose maybe it would depend on how the 2020 was configured
