Hi, anyone have knowledge as to when to expect this for the LCI M5? Not important I know and I've played around with the non US config out there for 2021 model, but looking forward to designing one in US version. It just seems odd to me that early US customers are expecting their completed cars within weeks but yet you have to go to a dealer to build one.

For 2020 orders the US configurator went live last year on 7-24-2019. I'm guessing Covid-19 has delayed things.

Guessing it will happen at about end of August ... M5 LCI would be the last one to update after all models carryovers go to 2021 and the new 4 series too

No excuse for this, lots of other MUCH smaller markets have had the correct model for months now. Just lazy/cheap on the part of BMW NA. I do not believe Covid has anything to do with this, but there are some lingering uncertainties as to packages, trim and options for the US market, like the laser light fiasco that might play a role I guess. Already have mine on order but still disappointed cannot get laser lights, and with competition package cannot get any of the wood trims other than piano black.

I noticed the 2021 X5M on the USA Configurator yesterday. The competition package is now an option not a separate model.

untrue. audi usa has the configurator for the RS6/7 and the EPA estimates aren't available yet

I think it has more to do with trying to get rid of 2020

No, you can only GET Piano Black trim or one of the two carbon structure trims if you order the competition package (JUST those 3 choices). You can get ALL the choices with regular M5 without competition package. I was frustrated because I wanted the plumb wood, which is available only WITHOUT the competition package.

I try to keep my mpg fairly low. I bought my M5 partly for the low mpg. I'm getting around 14 mpg and I am trying to get it down to 13.8.

I just don't understand this. You spend more money and get less options???? What about individual? Is that an option because I also want the plumb wood trim with turtufo full leather interior.
