keeping the M5 badge off

Took my M5C in for a full PPF wrap. When I picked it up, the badge was off, and they were going to put it on. I told them not to. Now I'm thinking of keeping the badge off permanently.

Thoughts?

I am thinking about getting full PPF for my 2022 M5 Competition when it arrives. Are there any points or tips I should let my detailer know about in advance? THX.

The installer I used swears by STEK DYNOshield PPF, he said it's glossier and less noticeable than Xpel, and from what I saw at the shop I would have to agree. He said that Xpel looks strange under certain indoor lights, and over time it can develop a color cast.

Your car, your looks. Looks good either way to me.

Don't see why badges are such a deal that people keep them on. BMWs always cleaner without rear badging.

It is totally a personal preference. When I had my F10 M5 I debadged it. It was actually a factory option, but a pretty crappy one. The "Debadge" option only removed the rear badge, not the one on the front grill and not the one on the sides. lol

I went as far as to order the blacked out grill (with no badge) and side gills. It had a much cleaner look.

My advice... do what makes you happy and don't worry about what others think.

Do not drive the car a single mile on the road before wrapping. I had my detailer pick up my car on his covered trailer.

If you drive the car, you will have rock chips.

I get the sentiment, however I wouldn't worry too much. I drove mine for months before deciding to get PPF. Did I have swirls by then and very minor defects? Sure, but they were corrected before PPF and now it looks fine. I think PPF is beneficial even if you do it a long time after owning the car.

Not unlike wearing plastic bags over your shoes to save on wear and tear

Buy them, drive them, enjoy them.
