FS: 2008 BMW 135i sport, Montego Blue, 6-speed, tuned. 1,500 miles. I am considering selling my 2008 BMW 135i sport. The car is with me in Atlanta now. Here are the details: 2008 BMW 135i 6 Speed Manual Transmission Montego Blue Exterior on Black leatherette interior Aluminum Trim Options: Navigation System (pop-up) Park Distance Control (with radar display on Nav screen) Sport package (different tires, wheels, and exterior shadowline a.k.a. black trim pieces instead of chrome trim) Modifications: Vishnu V3 piggyback ECU Dual Cone Air intake (makes the load on the turbos less, and oil temps run literally 20 degrees cooler than my STOCK 335i). The car is both gorgeous and a blast to drive. Current mileage is 1,500 (yes, fifteen hundred). I'll ask for $41,500 with all modifications, $39,000 without modifications. It's a beautiful car indeed. I don't mean to be rude by any means, however the question that comes to my mind is you have moded your car during the period you have to go easy on the engine. Obviously, you didn't mod your car, just for the sake of having mods!!!, but you wanted to push the engine and enjoy yourself. That doesn't create a well-taken care of picture for the engine. Again, sorry if my assumption is wrong, but I'm sure this question comes into poeple's mind. Maybe it's better if you addressed it here. Too bad you're departing from that car.
P.S. It seems you really like that shade of blue. You have your 360 Modena in Blu Tour de France.

That is fine if you or anyone thinks I modded it too early. I am confident that the car was broken in properly. I babied the motor at first, then got on it later. The brakes and tires are what really need to be broken in when the car is new. I made sure to do that properly. I take great care of all my cars. The motor in this car will be fine well past 100k. I doubt the next owner would even have it that long anyway! Good eye on the TDF blue.

Nice, clean, practically new. If someone wants a 135, they should go for this.

Hate to point out the obvious - but essentially you're pricing the car at a few hundred dollars below what somebody could get NEW at a dealer at MSRP??
So let me think about that....the next owner is now the SECOND owner, the car has 1500 miles on it already, 1500 miles that mind you have been driven with a MODIFIED TURBO ENGINE....so I could literally get this new for a few hundred bucks more - be the sole owner, know that the engine hasn't been mistreated during its break in period AND know that when it comes to selling I won't be selling to somebody that might take issue with a now multi-owner vehicle. Hate to say it but you're not going to have much luck. Beautiful car though, and your photography skills certainly don't go to waste! All I can say is best of luck, but you'll most likely only get a bite on ebay or Autotrader......OR somebody that REALLY wants your exact build and doesn't want to wait. This is my price. I am not reconsidering it. I appreciate your opinion that you do not like my price. That is fine. If you are right, it won't sell. I am not in a financial crunch and don't hate the 135i, so that will be ok with me. I am selling some of my other cars now, and if they all sell first, I will be happy to keep the 135i.
That being said, an offer is an offer. I don't think you are a potential buyer. But a potential buyer would likely make me an offer that is lower than my asking price, and I would likely consider it. I thought this goes without saying. I can ask 1 million for it. But if I am realistic, I will consider reasonable values when they are offered. Let's let the market determine if I have much luck or not. I feel I will be lucky either way. I love the car, and so would any buyer of it. Also, I would like to direct you to my original post: "If you don't like my price, please make a friendly suggestion or offer." |

^^+1 the seller is not demanding that you accept his price or holding a gun to anyone's head to make them purchase it. He has the right to set the price at whatever value he deems fit, no argument.
In my opinion, general suggestions/opinions like price should be discussed with the owner privately via email or PM. There is no need to muddy the for sale thread... just my 2 cents. Beautiful car, and goodluck with the sale. |
