Certainly influenced my decision. If I'm going to pay that much money, I'm going to want to have a choice of colors, etc... From a production perspective it makes things a lot easier to have very limited choices.

This is a limited-run car and not for the masses so they kept it exclusive. No need to worry, if you don't like the color options of the CS get a 2022 M5 Competition and option it the way you want.

They had too much green since no one wanted it (and understandably so). Had to get rid of it somehow. They figured no one would get grey with bronze-colored wheels, so they threw that in as a "bonus" choice. Little did they know, people will buy anything if it's declared an "exclusive."

I understand limiting the color choices. What I don't understand is offering a color in frozen option (green), but not in the traditional finish.
I don't like frozen paints. It's a texture issue for me. I really liked that green and wished I could have gotten it with a clear coat. My dealership went up the flagpole to BMWNA to ask for an individual color for me, twice, and we got rejected, twice. This will be my first non-blue M car in a long long time.

If it costing that much like you say, just pay to wrap it any color you want.

I think the point is if it's going to cost that much, it should come from the factory as desired without having to invest any additional personal time. It's more a matter of principle than finances. The 50th anniversary edition will probably be called the M5 Dukec and only be sold as houndstooth.
