I recently was contacted by one of the dealerships in my area because I have been on the search for a f90 to upgrade from f10. Originally when they first contacted me they said it would be around $90k but when I arrived to the dealership it was $105k. Am I the only one that thinks a 2-3 year old m5 still above $100k is too much? To be fair the cars msrp was $148k with every option possible including exhaust upgrade, every carbon add on, and individual paint. First time posting to the forum.

I just bought a 21 for $102k
6800 miles B&W Full Leather Exec and DAP Carbon mirrors and spoiler MPE Immaculate condition I guess $105 even with the individual paint and some extra carbon still seems high to me considering the mileage and pre LCI model |

For the options it has, it doesn't seem unreasonable, especially if it's well taken care of.
I have a 2020 with all the options and add-on parts with under 7k miles. Make me an offer! |

Maybe it would make sense if it had under 10k mi. I’d be patient and keep looking for the right deal.
It sounds like that dealer is still on 2021 pricing. How long have they had it in stock? |

I wouldn't attribute any of the value to individual paint.
The original "individual" who ordered it ate that cost IMO.

Damn loosing 33% in two years is just terrible, its like an anti-Toyota lol. Another reason I never understood why people would load up a 103K car 50k! in this case, I think there are examples of 160K M5s. For one this shouldn't even be allowed, this aren't Bentleys or Rolls Royce to have 50K worth of options. Secondly if you can afford a 160k, get a freaking M8C, GT63S AMG, Porsche with at least the word Turbo somewhere in the badge. I thought people got rich by not throwing away their money.

“Secondly if you can afford a 160k, get a freaking M8C, GT63S AMG, Porsche with at least the word Turbo somewhere in the badge.” Interesting take. I’d respectfully argue that none of those cars are directly comparable to an M5. Cross shoppable? Sure. But directly comparable, I don’t think so. M8? Number of doors. Even is GC guise, coupe is in its name. GT63S? Same thing. It’s basically a hatchback. Porsche, if you’re talking about a 911? Missing two doors and those back seats looks pretty small to me. I could give you perhaps the Panamera Turbo. But again, a really sloping roof line. I’d further argue that very few of us are getting this car because of its cost. We’re getting it because we love the M5. There are plenty of M5 + P car owners here, and there are plenty with owners multiple cars, some significantly nicer/more expensive than even a loaded to the gills M5C or a CS. Guess what? All those guys still have an M5 of some flavor. These are the do it all Swiss Army knives of a non-SUV DD. I find it interesting when people say they or others “upgraded” from an M5 to a Porsche. You hear that a lot. I don’t personally see it as an upgrade, nor do I drive an M5 because I don’t want to spend the money on a Porsche. It’s just something different. If I wanted a Porsche to be my DD, it would be. We’re not relegated to the M5 — we’re choosing it. Just my $0.02.

At least the 2020 has the new screen that has some functionality. My 2018 felt ancient when I had a 23' 430i loaner.
