Does anyone use front arch guards/mud flaps?
I am wondering if people tried using arch guards to minimize the amount of rubber that gets left on the front doors and lower side panels. After each track event, I have to spend a good amount of time trying to remove the rubber marks from the doors and the rocker panels. I am wondering if something like the arch guards would minimize the amount the number of rubber marks.

I got them after I found loads of tiny stone chips on the passenger side skirt edge of the wing. I wasn't sure at first but now I'm used to them and the carbon makes them look oem. |

Yup, I use front/rear mud guards specifically for reducing rubber from the track. Made with some black plastic cutting boards.

Tommy L Garage flaps save my paint. He makes a small and a large front, depending on how much coverage versus look you want. His rear flaps are great too. I use small fronts and the rears. Even at the dragstrip doing linelock burnouts my car stays clean of debris.

I use front mud guards from ZL1 add-ons. Unfortunately they don't make a rear set. However these were the best ones I found that weren't overbearing in regard to looks. They do a great job and install is easy

I made my own (front only) flaps to protect against paint damage from my rather-wide tires (315/30-18 or 305/30-19, both on 11"-wide wheels)... used some thin (single-layer) CF scraps + a replaceable, flexible bottom flap that's riveted on that's made from cheap plastic cutting board material... TBH, it doesn't hold up that well and I'm having to replace it (the cutting board bottom flap) fairly frequently.
I need to remake them wider anyway, the initial dimensions were to protect the paint from 295/30-18s on 10.5"s...

I installed the flaps from performancespeedshop, but I was a bit disappointed that they didn't come with the mounting hardware for the fronts. I had to McGyver things a bit to reuse the existing pins.

If you aren’t happy with your solution I’d call them. Mine just arrived and the package had new pins for the front!

Luckily for me, I had plastic rivets where the pin was about the same diameter as for the OEM plugs, and I was able to make it work. |
