Production of pre-production samples starts in early July. Production of demo cars and the first customer cars start slightly after that and deliveries will not happen before the end of August or early September.

If you have a demo car slot or one of the first cars, you will be a lucky person to receive it end of August or early September. I do not see anything happening before that, and I hope mine is there before October at least.

It is freaking annoying, because if I would have known this I would have sold my M2 last year and got a Giulia for the time being....

Just like the 850i, I'm sure Tim will get one to drive before the rest of us!

Bashing M mirrors? You wouildn't dare.

They are ridiculously cool and the only thing I am jealous about as a civic M2 owner.

I wonder if BMW will allow any of the first production allocations starting the 3rd week in July to go to ED customers that are first on the list??? That would mean that the first US ED customers might be driving around Munich in their M2 Comp around the first week in August.

Short timeframe to beat the months that require winter tires. I believe it starts middle of Oct.

Yeah, I'm not crazy about driving my new M2 around on the salted roads either.

I am gambling on this, but who knows.
Nov-April you have to rent winters at Welt.

Do they require you to rent them?

Edit: I just read this from the BMW site, http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...liveryFAQ.aspx. Apparently they don't require it, they just recommend it, if you get caught in bad conditions or on a road that requires snow tires then you could get cited by the Polizei. I would just stay out of the mountains and avoid snow storms. When I was over there sometimes I wouldn't put on my snow tires until ski season.
