Catless with single res delete
I currently have a catless DP, and thinking of doing a single resonator delete. Have you guys done this? And which of the 2 resonators is the one to take off for best sound/less drone. I know there is a snaller and larger, but not seeing any videos or feedback comparing this, thinking of removing the larger one… any thoughts?

Youre in kinda tough spot, im pretty sure most everyone just deletes both resonators, and calls it a day. Youll get a pretty good sounding setup with the dual res delete, but it doesnt drone at all going down the highway, and off throttle its pretty quiet.

Take the rear one out. I did the dinan midpipe that deletes both and found it too raspy. Ended up putting a vibrant resonator back in and sounds amazing now. This is with a catless dp

The rear one is the larger of the 2?

Yea, I’ve always done catback exhausts. But living in Cali, not wanting to draw attention from CHP or get reffed, and no performance gains… I want to make the car louder, just not annoyingly so. I like how the MPPSK is basically valved straight pipe, and the new turner motorsports exhaust… just wish there was a middle ground and actual performance benefits. Thanks

Are you referring to the muffler as the second resonator? Pretty sure there's only one "resonator" on my 2015 335. I'm catless with vrsf race exhaust and I had to do a vibrant resonator or it sounded like shit now it sounds perfect.

There is an oval resonator in the front and a bottle style closer to the muffler. In theory you want to keep the one closer to the downpipe to reduce high frequency rasp/drone. The closer you have the resonator to the muffler the less high frequency is reduced and more lower frequency. Mine technically is the same as if I removed the front one. I would expect removing the rear only would sound better.

I started out with a standard system and removed the resonator closest to the rear. The result was in increase in decibels but the original tone was maintained - was very happy with it. Now I have a 200 cell downpipe and it's honestly perfect.
