M550i H&R's are slightly lower on the front than the KW's on the lowest setting.

Just made this change and it's noticeable w/o even taking into account that they will settle lower.

Interesting, I thought KW went 1.5 inches square as you can go lower than the recommended settings while the M550 is 1.3/1.2.

I have seen KW cars that are visibly lower than M550 dropped F90's

Vic, hope you're well brother.

KW HAS according to their website lowers both front and read .2"-.8".

You can certainly square up the wheel gap all around but not if you want to have the fenders right above the tires. The rears on the KW HAS will allow an aggressive drop where the fender is right over the tire but the fronts don't go as low so the gaps are not uniform or square all around. With that said, the quality of KW is top notch as is the adjustability factor and the quality of the ride (very little rebound).

I've only been on the HR 550 springs for a couple of days and the fronts are lower than the KW HAS, and this is before they've settled completely. Is it perfectly balanced all around, probably not. Is it a huge difference, probably not.

For 99% of people, the KW's are just fine.

@MpowerMike , regarding what you mentioned in the PM.
I just went through the installation process in my mind and I think I might know the issue here.

There is 2 possibilities, but the first one is my main suspicion.

Possibility #1 - The spring perch on the front shock is not pressed to a proper position or low enough into the shock body.

Possibility #2 - The front and rear spring got swapped. They will fit either way. Just will give you different drop and ride quality.

Sir please assist here since you have had both KW HAS and now M550.

From lower speeds 0-60 mph on ok roads:

Whats more bouncy in Sport Plus shock setting or are they pretty much the same

From higher speeds 70-130 on ok roads:

Same question- same setting.

And

What has more lean at higher speeds 70 to 130 in turns:

KW or M550.

I ask cause Im about to cave and ditch the F90 H&R's for the M550's. I find the F90's to be a bit bouncy on compression and rebound even on the most normal of streets much like stock. I am hoping to not get worse quality. But damn I love the M550 look.

Vic,

I think in regards to bounciness they are very simliar in both in 0-60 & 70-130.

If I had to pick one, I would say the M550i springs are slightly better in the 0-60 while the KW are better from 70-130.

At high speeds the KW exhibits less body roll and lean, but again, the difference is not drastic. Miami is not an exciting place to drive so 70-130 turns are few and far between.

My decision to go the M550i route was based on looks and some of the positive feedback from other members. I really love the KW HAS but wanted a more aggressive drop on the front.

Yoooo, I knew it was only a matter of time. We're cut from the same mold when it comes to stance ... seen enough pix of your cars to know this.

Sometimes this is the price we pay for being early adopters ....

You'll be VERY happy with your decision.
