project gamma filters

Has anyone changed the filters on their PG intakes for another brand? Any recommendations or should I just stick with the PG replacements?

stick with PG filters. is there is a reason you're looking for a different brand?

Mine are different but couldn't tell you what brand they are I bought a bunch of stuff from a forum member and just picked the biggest ones he had in the kit that fit. I want some red or blue pg ones cause they look better than the grey/silver ones I have now.

Have seen a few photos of people's turbos being tore up from the filters letting small debris in.

Scary stuff man, but also looking for an alternative to PG filters that would fit their silicon pipes as I imagine those don't need to be swapped out.

Yeah ha I saw the other guys post. I checked my filters and personally haven't had any issues but I'm just weary now. Also I think bigger filters would just look a little better.

This was one facebook post/thread I read recently. The fail automatically is blamed on PG. I have been running PG for about 15k miles. I would inspect filters every oil change. If the owner fails to do this then a rip in the filter allows debris in the turbo, that is the owner's fault.

Protocol is to wash filters at 5k and replace them at 10k. To be safe, I replace my filters at 5k since I use the yellow filters and I want them to POP with a nice clean bright yellow behind my grill.

I know 10 F90 owners PERSONALLY using PG intakes and NOT ONE has experienced any issues. If YOU are driving through a sandstorm then hey make some accommodations lol.

Moral of the story, inspect your filters for imperfections every so often. Be smart and not lazy and your car will be fine.

Here is an alternative for PG intakes and filters. They are made by n63intakes.

This N63 intake looks an awful lot like a project gamma intake? Are the 2 companies in bed together? Are these just white labeled Chinese junk? Whats the deal? And why hasn't one of the companies sued the other? The designs look nearly identical? However N63 is about 1/2 the price? Whats up wit dat?

And he does it again....

On an unrelated note, I don't know what's more hilarious; Kenan's Jheri curls (just learned it's not named after some guy named Jerry), or his three piece suit! Thank for giving me a good laugh…again!
