New M5 Competition in Frozen Blue

Nice collection of cars to play with, glad you had fun.

I think it's weird they have the competition badge on the car but it's also weird how much attention it's getting from the crowd. Re-/debadge if you want. I guess there isn't much else about it that is interesting/new.

Ok, now this saddens me...just now realized this was South FL...I would have loved to go. Where do I find out about these events?!

stop by a BMW dealer once in awhile..

Stop and register with BMWUSA.com

Participate in a BMW Test drive Event like the Susan G Komen event or the Ultimate Driver Event or ANY of the " come in and test drive our new model " events that occur throughout the year. Typically.. after ATTENDING such an event.. one will receive a $1000 off promotional mailer for buying a car..

There were direct mailer invites that went out on this months ago from BMW NA to customers that did either of the two above sometime in the past year or two..

There was a thread in these very forums a month or so back.

Join BMW Car club... so perhaps your friends will be going to the event and tell you...

With regards to the dealer.. that isn't related to where you live.. it's consistent across metro areas.

BMW dealers are now kinda like the APPLE store. It's where you go to pickup a new item.. but the buying/shopping experience is HORRIBLE..

it's best to do your research online in advance and only enter the store when you have an appointment.

I signed up within 5 minutes of opening my mailer envelope, but the full-day sessions were already sold out by then. Which ended up being pivotal because according to the instructors, the full day participants get to extensively flog the M5 (nonC) on the track. We half-day participants got to idle in it for 2 minutes and fling it down the drag strip for 5 secs or less (but for those 5 secs or less, I am free!

Which is not enough time to judge the car at all. I'm a buyer in the next 2 mos but I'm not buying this car without a good test (I didn't like the F10 at all). Oh wells.

The half-day session was awesome btw - one of the best value driving experiences out there - but that's something for another thread.

Takes 5 days/5 nights and a few thousand. I'm registered for the M5 program September 30-October 2, interested in the 600 hp monster around the Ring for 2 days with the new Mdrive. Insight into the upcoming M8.

Beautiful car for sure really only thing I don't like looks wise is that massive gloss black rear diffuser area. Not a good look especially with the frozen paint against it really makes it stand out.
