But more importantly, thank you for service OP. I will never take my freedom for granted. Enjoy your car!
If you figure the current F10 market, expect the car to be around half price in 2-3 years

110k+ window cars going for mid-high 50's all day long.

If you are concerned about a mass depreciating asset, lease or buy it used in a few years.

The only issue with used is your butt wasn't the first in the seat lol.

if I am not mistaken the F10 M5 was starting at 92k + gas guzzler tax!
people who pay $92k don't care about another $10k when considering purchasing this type of vehicle.

do you think someone who wants a ferrari will not buy a 488 because it went up $10k in sticker price? no. the answer is no.
Well 10% maybe makes a difference for some people. Of course the higher you go up the less of a difference 10k makes.

Best to wait for CompPack if you can - should be around $115k with Exec and CompPack which is in line with what the F10 M5 cost.

The deals on the F10s are crazy - you can pick up a CPO 2015 in the $60s!

agreed. if you can save $10k i'm all about it, but when you are already in the market for these cars no one is saying, "oh man the f10 was $10k cheaper. im gonna go buy the e63 instead. damn bmw always raising the prices on me. it's like inflation is real or something."

Looks like individual full merino is only $1,500 more than the regular full merino colors... Is that only the 3 options listed or can you do the other individual colors for same price?
I'd take
individual full merino: $5k
Exec Pkg: $4k
B&W: $3.4k
Maybe some other small options so likely sniffs $120k

120K for this thing....idk in this car market there are some....dare I say it...way better cars for the money? Maybe the ZR1

Yes they don't have four seats and some of you need that but still, this M5 with the same engine...

Lots of amazing stuff for $120k.... but in this category this is priced right in the mix. Unless you went with a CTSV not sure what you are getting that is competitive for meaningfully less.

OP,

Thanks for sharing!! Exciting news for sure. I spoke with my dealership over the weekend and they told me I could place an order in the coming couple weeks if I wanted, although I've been looking at used Turbo S's lately.

I wish some of the options in the "1st edition" package were stand alone options- I'm with sure with the release of the competition package in second MY, most of them will be. Glad to see so much standard equipment though.

So far if I were to order today:
Base: $102600
X08-Champagne Quartz $1950
ZBCR-Caramel/Black Full Merino $5000
ZDB- Driving Assistance $1700
ZEC- Executive $ 4000
2NK- Carbon Ceramics $8500
6F1- Bowers & Wilkins $3400
6UK- Nightvision $2300
7ME- M Driver's Package $2500
4ML- Piano BLK trim $1080

$133,030 base price and options (no tax)

Exhaust ( I can imagine 8-10k)
HR Has Kit (2k)
Carbon fiber mirrors, trunk spoiler, rear diffuser ( 3-5k)

150k+ for an M5 wish list....yikes....

This car will be a great buy 2 years into its life cycle for 85k

No totally agree. Some of us cross shop into two doors though and the M5 can just no longer compete at this price point for what you get (when including 2 door cars)

The Ceramics and M Driver's Package are totally not necessary, and a rip off for the price. That's $11k right there.

Wait, a two plus ton four door isn't competitive with a sports car? My mind is blown.

Someone has to buy a new one for you to be able to buy it used .

Personally, I only buy new, but then again, I keep my cars for 8+ years at least.
