2018 thankfully still under 4yr MF, CPO and bought the extended and purchased from an authorized Bmw dealer which is kinda head scratching that they didn't do 1 WOT pull and trigger that message lol or didn't see it and fix it pre-sale since its all warranty work..

Yeah I will... It felt a little sluggish off the trailer just figured new car, ZF trans, wasn't gonna feel like a DCT or manual lol, so got home fine, felt a little sluggish getting gas this morning (also shipped me it with 20 miles to empty lol)

But the story goes:

Came back from first fill up went to wash it and setup the M1 button and went to hit it for the first time gave me the normal reaction when it triggers the drivetrain malfunction which stops you in your tracks, then said you can keep driving totally safe just visit dealer. That time it limited it to 4000 RPMS

Let it sit while washing and drying after talking to SA who got me an appointment and loaner for next week, started the car up again and got in the small "drivetrain light appeared on the dash not the screen" and the CEL went hard and stayed on. Read the code when I got home and it was listed a private code for the trans, and basic odb2 code for engine with Cyl 6 misfire, and no real sluggishness (although didn't get on it at all but slow acceleration and 75-85mph cruising speed home didn't trigger the light to only let me go to 4000rpms... manual shifting was fine up and down over 5k RPMS and off the line...

So who knows lol but def not the welcome back I was expecting given my only real poor exp was with my e60 M5 lol all my 335i's, M3,m4,760,x3, and f10 m5 were flawless.

had misfire on a cylinder and malfunction warning, was just a bad coil, fixed in an hour, fine ever since.

Don't panic.

Haha yea no panic here, I used to get them all the time doing 160 pulls in the f10 with the jb4 so I'm used to seeing the message, just unexpected fresh off the trailer from an authorized dealer vs. Joe blows used car lot ya know lol

When I picked my car up, same thing happened. It turned out to be a low battery charge. They had it in the showroom and not attached to a battery tender. Drivetrain Message came and went for about 2 weeks of owning it and then went away for good. 2 years and no issues since.

Yup that's what they said their diagnoses came back as bad plug bad coil, I was hoping they'd do the whole bank (I hate when they do just one, they'd do that on my e92 m3 and 335i regularly)

It was going to be done today, but their distributor or shipper shipped my parts to NYC along with some other things and those NYC packages came to them so they won't get parts in till late Saturday which they said it'll be done Monday. Got a nice 21' 330x to drive so I just said that's fine.

Will report back after pickup how shes running since it'll be my first time giving the car some WOT since buying.
