this is amazing, great post OP. I would advise everyone to pay close attention to the buyer guide link, I already had 3 chances to buy one and were in discussions till I asked for the serial number. All of the sudden they stopped replying.

Great info. Wow, 1.8 has been in use since at least 2007, when I got mine, so I can't imagine how old a 1.7 unit would be!

The serial number is important because you can find out what version a V1 is by plugging it into the V1 website. Also, if the serial# is missing from the V1, they will not service it.

Just as an FYI when someone sends their V1 into the shop for an upgrade, they assign your unit a new serial number that reflects the updates.
