Usual times 2:10-2:12. Everything from 200 treadwears to Michelin Pilot Sport Cups. I’m out there for fun and consistency. The car probably has ten seconds a lap faster than I’m willing to push. I love my speed, but ragged edge around every corner has a predictable ending.

Thanks Shawn. I just got back from two days of private coaching at VIR (my first time) in a Camaro SS 1LE and was wondering how the M5 would fair. There was a new Z06 Vette on track, pretty much hung with it in turns but pulled away from me on straights. I might be biased but I think my M5C would pull more over 100mph.

If you exit Oak Tree at any more than 60 mph and go out over the FIA curbing on the left at least straddling it under acceleration the M5 CS reaches 160 mph plus at the end of that straight.

The C8’s are FAST on VIR’s straights. If they’re well driven keeping up with them in the turns is the problem. But the z06 and the M5 CS are pretty much neck and neck in the straights at VIR - the M5’s corner exit speed is higher because AWD.

Best I did in camaro was 145 mph going over curbing but it was only 455 hp car. 160 is really moving!

Thank you so much Shawn.

If it weren’t for the stupid M2 it would have been a lot better…

I think the best our cars have is a 2:04 with 200s.

Audi days look pretty light compared to PCA.

They are. This is advanced only, open track.
Porsche days, unfortunately have a higher, umm, “butthole Titer” than Audi or BMW days.

Great video Shawn. Man that car is quick, put a huge smile on my face watching you go around the track. It's hard not to love the M5, it really is the do all car. And sounds amazing.

My fast lap starts at 5:12, but as you will see the traffic sucks most sessions. I like Chin and Trackdaze the most so far.

Chin is by far the fastest.

The passing etiquette in that session is very “Porsche owner” special.

Great lap. Your courage in entering the uphill esses gives you several seconds a lap over me. The M5 CS “ball holder” in your car appears to be full.

I was at Track Advantage and they put a bunch of 15yr olds in open wheel F5 cars on track with Advanced. One of them hit the side of a Ginetta first day trying to pass on a corner, just messed up fender and paint.

Then on day two, another one hit the same Ginetta from behind trying to pass on a corner. Broke the Ginetta's axle, rim and control arms. They didn't even kick the kid out. It was HPDE not a race and no reason to be driving like that. I am in intermediate, so I avoided being on track with them but when I get to advanced, I certainly would think twice about their track days.

I really wish I could drive a CS. I want to know how big of a difference there really is from my comp.

I know I’m doing Chin end of June and Trackdaze Labor Day weekend.

I quit tracking with NASA when someone hit the ambulance. No. Really.

On track behavior matters.

My 18 F90 and the CS was a quantum leap of handling and power. Braking, eh. Straight F90 comes with REALLY good brakes out of the box.
