Brake Dust Help

Let me start by saying I have had my M5 Comp for 5 days now. I love this car! I gave up my 2019 Vette for the M5 and have no regrets whatsoever. I have had the car and wheels ceramic coated which helps. But this brake dust is horrible. I put ceramic brake pads on the vette to help alleviate that. Are you guys doing that or just cleaning the wheels every time you drive hahaha. For those that have changed the pads, what kind did you go with? Thanks for your help.

I went with Ceramic Pads from Porterfield (purchased from ACG in San Diego). Good number of folks here running these.

Less dust and brake noise .. I've had them for over two years and no issues.

Welcome... yeah, as stated above, those appear to be the best low dust option, but...some will argue you lose performance.

I also have the ACG pads and yes I can confirm less brake dust and importantly way less noise.

I know it's crazy expensive, but upgrading to the carbon ceramic brake system will solve your problem and then some. Much cheaper as an option when you initially buy the car, but can be done after the fact. This is exactly why I got them, and I'll never go back to steel rotors.

Awesome thanks for the info. I am definitely going to look into changing these out. After 100 miles of driving they are filthy haha.

Yeah, $8500 when you get the car and $16k afterwards. Ugh.

yeah definitely not going that route. I called a local BMW shop today, they said $300 to install the ACG pads. Seems like an easy enough job. Anyone do it themselves?

Yeah, I was considering it too but not for $16k. Adding $300 pads seems like a much better route (even without removing a little unsprung weight).

Sorry, I was a bit misleading in that post. They will charge me $300 just to install them. I wold have to buy the ACG pads which are about $600. Still a lot cheaper than $16k.

Thanks for clarifying. Still a better deal for sure!
