Curb Rash

I'm horribly embarrassed to post this, but I curbed my wheel. Is this a concern for lease turn-in?

What tires are those? They do not look stock and look like run flats.

Pirelli P Zero summer. It's what came with the car. 🤷*♂️

I somehow manage to get road rash whatever I drive. That feeling, especially in nice car, when you feel and hear the moment it happens...

There's many shops that fix curbed wheels. Shouldn't be too expensive to fix-low hundreds.

I think it depends on whether you are leasing another bmw. If you are chances are they may not even mention it or state any costs to you although behind the scene a it will be in their calculations for the deal as it obviously has to be fixed.
It doesn't cost them much to repair so it's not really a big deal in my opinion.

The general condition of the car will I guess dictate Theo attitude, so as long the remainder of the car is fine then don't worry

my car was a lease turn in when i initially viewed the car a couple rims were rashed. Dealer pointed to a guy in the lot that repairs their wheels. He did a good job so my guess its up to each dealer how they handle.

yes, if you turn it in and don't get another car from them they will make you replace that wheel. Get it fixed BEFORE they even know about it. They will fix it for you but it will cost much more than you'd pay on your own. Those wheels are probably $800 to $900 cost but the stealer will charge you full MSRP. Unless you lease a new car. then all is forgiven.

Get it fixed.

Get wheel insurance next time. (I did not LOL so take that advice for what it's worth).

Sorry to see that. I had similar incident with my car and had it fixed for $150 and looked like new. BMWFS will charge you for it at the end of the lease if not fixed.

All of my leases have had curb rash on at least 1 wheel. I've never had an issue with it at all.

Honestly, I don't even bother getting mine fixed. I just turn the car in as is.

They should send you a kit near the end of the lease that explains all the turn in procedures and I think it mentions curb rash and how much of it is allowed (but I'm not sure).

If you are leasing another BMW they will definitely be more lenient with stuff like that.

If you get it repaired (shouldn't cost more than about $100 per wheel) then you will be totally fine.

I've never *not* curbed at least one wheel on any of my Bimmers. $150 to kiss it goodbye. Easy

My heart sinks whenever it happens and despite my best efforts it inevitably does ... I have turned my cars in and there has never been any issue. They don't even bat an eye. Might be covered under 'wear and tear'

Most dealerships have a paint correction and rim repair guy who visits the dealership once a week or every other week. Find out from your SA when that is, and see if they can do it while you wait. I did this with a curbed wheel on my last car, and an approximately 4" rash line was rendered invisible in about an hour.

I've tuned in several cars all with curbed wheels and never had an issue. They have been more picky on worn tires.

My experience is that they'll ding you for it. Go get them fixed, it's cheap and easy.
