Can you not just install original downpipes and remove JB4 before taking it to the dealer?

you can but your bmw uploads/stores all kinds of data including torque, boost, hp, speed etc. numbers and they can see that you were outside the stock numbers and hence decipher there was some sort of tune in place.

You need to update your JB4 firmware. Version 12 I think. If you have the previous 9, it will produce driveline fault in LCI comp pkg, with ewg connected.

You can also disable ewg by clicking bit 5 in the advanced menu, however, this isn’t required with firmware 12.

its on the 2021 comp. Car was sputtering when started it up. It randomly starts working and then is undrivable again. IDK whether to take to dealer or to Auto Couture

Have you tried removing JB4 , putting it back to stock, disconnect the battery for 10 minutes to see if it returns to normal ?

Didn't fix the issue. Does anyone know how to put the car into manually Neutral so it can be towed?

I think if you move the shifter to the left and do not engage park the car will be in neutral. Only use flat bed for transporting.

Got the car to Auto Couture. After diagnosing it, the people who installed my downpipes didn't secure the transmission harness properly which led to it melting. Getting a new transmission harness hoping that it will be ready to go. Wasn't a JB4 issue but still won't be hooking up the EWG and only will stick with the TMAP as the Map1 with TMAP pulls harder than with EWG for some reason.

Do a wide open run from 3rd to top of 5th or 6th gear and post the zoomed in of the WOT section..

Add in more cylinders of timing, boost, trims2.

I want to compare yours to mine... What year is your car? Edit, NM, I see a 21, same as me.

Did you do a draggy run to confirm it wasn't pulling harder with EWG? Be nice to see a log from that too. I had to turn FF down to 40 on mine the boost was going too high in map2.

There is a service recall for the transmission harness getting burnt. Your dealer will sort it out. Just google it you will see there are even news articles on the same. It's happened to my 2020 Comp, stranded on the road, car would throw every possible code and get stuck in Park. The catless downpipes accelerate the melting of the harness due to excessive heat, but it was bound to happen even with stock Downpipes. The re route it a different way as per the recall.
