M Performance or Akrapovic exhaust for M5 CS?
I always only consider Akra for my Porsche but what about for BMW? Anyone have experience with both of these exhausts? Who makes M Performance exhausts? Thanks.

Another option and what I just purchased (not yet installed) is Frequency Intelligent. No Titanium, but sounds similar to Akra and MPE, and retains the valvetronic tech. Comes in cat back or with downpipes. About half the price of Akra.

Akra doesn't have an exhaust for the M5 CS as yet. Apparently you cannot use the same exhaust for the regular M5 Competition. I called and asked and that's what they said.
In the mean time the M Performance Titanium is ready and can be used immediately.

I'd like to hear some sound clips of the M performance system. I'll be honest, the sound in the CS is a major letdown compared to my non comp M5. Ideally someone will offer a GPF delete system to properly awaken the beast.

Just found this. Is this an accurate representation? Seem too loud to be street legal…

The exhaust button kills the burbles and pops on deceleration on the M performance exhaust, despite having no valves. They tuned the sound profile really well.

The engine driving mode has the greater effect on the valves, though pressing the exhaust button does add a tiny bit more aggression to the valve programming. Just not a lot. |

Because if you order the car with it, the MPE is residualized along with the MSRP. It’s treated as a factory option despite being installed at the port. And with the M5 it’s more like 41-43% right now.
