Am I getting ripped off? Ppf/ceramic quote

Original post deleted cause had all my personal contact info whoops

So again never had ppf or ceramic before but I'm purchasing my g80 and it's black so I wanna keep the paint looking perfect as possible !

Is this quote overpriced, overdoing it or what?! 15k seems like a lot

Both. I think the prices are high and it's a lot of unneeded work. Not sure why it has prices for both the front partial and full car wrap.

Are you sure they aren't just trying to show the price difference between doing a full PPF versus a front PPF job with the first two line items?

Yeah, thats a ripoff. Most places will include wheels in a full coating, or at least they should for 1200. I would shop around.

As has already been pointed out, this invoice double taps the PPF with frontal and full. The individual prices are similar to what I've been quoted in San Diego.

The other things that I'd note is that $1200 seems a bit steep for prep work, but it does include quite a bit. That, and the final price also includes $1.2k in taxes.

If you remove the $3.8k for frontal (I make the assumption of full PPF given all the rest you are doing) and the $1.2k in taxes (which you'll still have to pay most of this in the end), you're looking at $10k parts/labor (before tax) for full prep, full PPF, and ceramic coating of the ENTIRE car (interior, exterior, all glass, wheels, and calipers).

That seems fairly reasonable to me.

It's on the high side, for what I see. I live in California, which is almost the king of high prices for most things. I received full paint correction, full STek PPF of everything. carbon breathers PPF'd, grill slats, all window moldings, roof rails, headlights, door handles and tail lights/ wing all removed for a seamless installation, full mirrors, side skirts, carbon diffuser, removed and wrapped, and reinstalled.

Wheels off coated/ calipers coated/ and windshield done in STek DynoFlex (outer windshield PPF) You cannot touch the outside of my car, without touching PPF. Coated in Feynlabs self healing ceramic coating. $8,000, out the door.

Interior was cleaned and the carbon fiber interior package was ceramic coated, but I did the leather, myself, with 2 coats of CarPro Leather.

I received a discount, for being retired military, about 12%, but that's not expected in most places. I also referred 2 other people that spent a combined total of $15,000 with them. The $8,000 quote, above, is the price someone would expect to pay, walking in, without my approx 12% discount, removed.

I had the windows tinted at another shop, for $970, Formula One Stratos 70/35/15

I'm in Austin, Texas...so may be a bit cheaper here.

A few quotes I've gotten
-Full PPF -$4.5-6k
-Partial Front -$1.5-1.7k
-Stage 1 correction / Ceramic outside only - $1-1.3k (the paint will be in great condition new, but you'll have some slight swirls from factory post-paint cleaning

I think you've asked for the kitchen sink in that quote so they are doing literally everything which is a lot of work, but it is a little pricey. A lot of this stuff is way OTT. If it were me I would scale this back big time and ask yourself do you really need all of this done?

This is a mass produced car, it's not some super rare vehicle. What are you trying to achieve? You can keep the car looking great while spending a lot less money

Why is this even necessary to to full car xpel, it's just a car, and it's not even that special of a car.

Save the money for retirement, not a depreciating "asset".

$15k on a car that probably cost $80-90k. 16-18% of the cost of the car, GTFO!

I agree - so my question to everyone what would you get that will keep the car looking good and be more reasonable? What would/did you do?

Bump to the above question if not whole car what would you reccomend for a decent amount of protection without going overboard.

I didn't do the whole car. I had PPF applied to the front bumper, front fenders, full hood, headlights, side mirrors, full roof, and A pillars. I figured that should cover me from most high impact areas while driving.

I'm having the front bumper, grill and rocker panels done.

$7-$8K total IMO. As noted early, it appears some panels are included twice.

This!!! Why is everyone here so quick to drop this much cash in a heart beat? So many have been sold on “you need ceramic/ppf the moment you buy a new car”. Half these people have no idea how to even maintain the car after they pick it up.

Crack head made that invoice, clearly that $3800 shouldn't be on there....why would they put a price for full front & then full car....dumb mistake.

Regarding everything else...yes that is very high.

Full PPF here in Northern, VA is around $6500-7k & that includes full car PPF & Ceramic coating + wheels. Windshield & interior would be a little more but probably half of what you were quoted or less.

Some people man.
