It will.
BMW won't make a transmission that only have 10% margin of failure.
Because with CP itself, there is about 5% increase of horsepower to the transmission.

I would worry about the drive shaft first before the transmission.
I have seem a few with aggressive tune and R compound tires, twisted that drive shaft like a tooth pick.

This is a very conservative tune but still shows meaningful gains thru the proper rpm usage ranges. It uses the OEM ECU thresholds which will protect the car and the ZF8 has a much much higher tq rating than where this tune will take you.

I had the ZF on 4 tuned cars prior (2 Audi, Bentley, Jag) with no issues and they had ECU tunes with higher more risky gains.

Which Audi did you have? I used to have the APR tune on my RS7 and with 100 octane the car was a monster. The stock F90 feels more powerful than the tuned RS7 - I can't wait to get the RC installed.

So you sold me a tune that will destroy my drive shaft?

I'm joking - I don't want to start trouble.

I had three 4.0 tfsi engines, two in the RS7 (14 and 17) and the Bentley GT3R. Dont expect that same margin gains from the RC on the F90 since you are starting at a higher number and the RC is a more safe/conservative/non dyno sheet selling piggy.

I like to think equate hp/tq gains to dollars spent, at times and the RC is one of the better SAFE bangs for the buck.

That's the JB4 dyno. Race Chip didn't do their own? I read the JB4 guide and it said the connections to add more power are optional for installation. Makes my wonder why anyone would want the Race Chip because the JB4 gives you the same option for quick install with added benefit of extra control and power. The low boost valet map on the JB4 also looks handy.

How much cheaper is the Race Chip?

It says made in Germany but the connector and harness look like made in China?

Check first post on the Dyno that RaceChip did.

Harness wise, I just checked, no where I can find anything saying "Made In China".
Maybe the copper on the wire strand itself came from China?

Has anyone tried the throttle tuning RC offers. I used to use a Sprintbooster on my R8 V10 and I liked the improvement it made in throttle response.

It’s torque that counts and the CP has no more torque than the non-CP.

I have been using it.
It is a nice product. Make it more fun to drive.
But on M car, you can set it up individually, isn't it?

Besides I don't want to break your car or your bank.

Thank you to onfireX5 and Vic55 to help me with some images.
OP - can you give us the data on the jb4 vs. race chip WHEEL torque and hp gains. 91 octane (or 92 if you don't have 91 data). I'm trying to understand which is putting down better numbers.

Unfortunately I can't give you that data since I don't sell JB4 and the closest dyno is 1 hour away from me.
Besides, I will need to borrow your car to do the dyno for comparison.
