Exhaust + Lower DP Install Time

I searched cannot really get a straight answer.

About how long does a catback + lower down pipe take to install? I am being quoted $1200 from my dealership which @ $150 an hour is 8 hours. Just seems high.

Anyone know if this is about right or is it high?

Do you know the install time for a tech? Would appreciate something helpful.

I found a local shop that will do it for like 1/3 of the price so going to be taking it there. NV Autopro Services is where I'm going in case someone needs a shop in Vegas. They were recommended by mike@x-ph.com

If a forum sponsor recommended them, I'd say they're safe. A sponsor wouldn't stick their neck out for just any shop.

I do my own work and have not done this job yet so I don’t know the time. There is a utube video of a guy doing it on an M8 and it does not look that hard. Certainly a few hours but not 8-12 or whatever runs up a bill up to $1200.

All depending on the product brands.
I have done some car-back exhaust where it can take hours to adjust it to fit properly. Same as the downpipe.
But, with best brand on both in ideal situation, will still be 4-5 hours.

Remember, some shop will take a pay cut just to get a job.
Do they know anything about it? Have they ever done it? Will they get it done properly or not?
Trust me, I've seen a few of my customers went to a place that is "cheaper" than me, and there were missing nuts, bolts, pieces, and even broken things.

Lastly, it is easy for someone to say how long it will take without ever doing the job themselves.

I would say it took me 4 hours to do mine. For a trained mechanic with all the tools shouldn't take any longer than that.

Are you in Vegas? If so, dm me, and I can refer to a few shops that can do the install for cheaper.
