Is this something I need to be concerned about?

It is just saying that you've been controlling the RaceChip manually instead of via the App.

I got the RC about a month ago and happy with the results so far. Do most people just set it up with map 7 and just forget about it? Anyone running on 7 for multiple years without issues?

I've been running RC Black GTS, on map 7 for about 8 months so far, no issues. I unplug and uninstall when I need to get service at the dealer, even minor oil changes. I've even had some minor warranty items taken care of (not having to do with RC install, coolant expansion tank, fuel injectors that apparently had coolant leaking on to them from the expansion tank (apparently pretty common), vanos solenoid) but I take it out just incase. While they haven't looked or said anything I imagine they could see it if they dug deep enough.

Occasionally I will fill with 95 octane, or 100 octane mixed with 91. There is a gas station near me the sells both. Im not able to tell all that much difference.

No other modifications other than RC.

Ran my X5M and M5 on RC 7 only for years. Zero issue. Will install another one on my X5MC when it arrives. Ben at RG Sport is the RC guru.

I took my M5 in to get the coolant overflow tank replaced, and the RaceChip lost connection.

I didn't think about it, until after about a week of wondering why the car felt so anemic. I kept thinking, "feels like the car is way down on power."

Then it dawned on me... it WAS way down on power.

I reconnected the RaceChip this morning, and enjoyed the wheelspin again. What a great product!

I've got a few thousand miles so far so good.
I added RC map 7 with secondary DP's, Dinan X pipe, inlets, and BMC filters. Dropped my 0-60 from 3.28 to 2.74 with a 1.59 60ft on the street via Dragy

question i have, if i want to do a cat delete and speed restriction delete would i need to turn it off and do a full stage 2 flash or could i just flash for the speed restriction and engine codes for the cat removal?

AFAIK, You can configure flash tune to any setting that you wants.

Yes, it is engineered with California 91 in mind.
