Bimmertech Amp uploads via MicroSD
Any help will be greatly appreciated...............
I'm looking to the MicroSD card install. I see a couple files I wanted to try from: http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1182351 From reading this thread, http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1133999 , freebiker and chazmink initially were going this route but unsuccessful. I have read the pdf from Fischer tech manual and have read this as well, from saaltonenpost #497.. 6. When you download the tune file it will be shown as a .pdf file, I assume this is due to upload restrictions here on the board that require us to add that faux pdf extensions to be allowed. Depending on the computer you are using, you might need to go into the File Explorer options and under the "View" tab uncheck hide file extensions for common file types options. 7. Now it will show your downloaded tune as xxxxxx.afp.pdf. Right click and rename this by removing the .pdf and leaving xxxxxx.afp. So....is it just that easy to download a premade file...change the file extension...put on Scandisk and insert in Bimmertech amp? ............and NO I haven't tried this process yet. I wanted to hear from the experts so I don't screw anything up.

Why not use the supplied USB cable and upload a tune from your computer through the Audio Tech software?

My laptop bit the dust..... I don't want to buy another laptop.
Plus..... per manual.... the MicroSD is a secondary option, which I would like to try.

Just curious, how will you get the date/file to the SD card without a computer? Because even if you get the data/file to the SD card, how will the amp know to read the file from the SD card. Guess I didn't read that part of the manual. Good luck though.

The Micro SD card reader can be used to download firmware and software updates as well as complete DSP setup les containing all DSP settings. After having inserted the MicroSD card into the card slot of the PP 82DSP, the le will be automatically copied to the internal memory of the amplifier. While the copy is in progress, the status LED ashes red. It changes to green or orange once the process is finished.
