Tire balancing
Hey all I just had my summer tires switched to all seasons. I noticed two of the wheels, don't have wheel weights on them (both passenger side). I had this done at a bmw dealer; Is there a chance a wheel can be balanced without weights? I haven't experienced this before.

I haven't had the chance to take it on the highway but at 40-50 mph there's no vibration. I'll try to take it on the highway tonight around 75-80 mph. this is just the first time I had a wheel let alone two wheels with no balance weights needed, so it got me concerned.

Yes, it is totally possible to get a balanced wheel / tire combo - higher speed rated tires and performance / well made wheels all inherently have better balance right off the production line and also if any inherent imbalances are cancelling each other, bingo. That being said, the probability of a reported "balanced" tire / wheel goes up as the tech's OCD "tolerance" goes down... added to that - two tires is even less likely. So, I would cover myself by letting your SA know, and then if you get early wear, etc then you may have some recourse? I hate to be a cynic but i could just imagine the likelihood of someone balancing tires and forgetting to do both fronts is a higher likelihood that two perfectly balanced front tires. My two cents.
