19” rims

Did anyone else besides me opt for the 19” wheels?

I originally ordered them for better ride on upstate ny roads.

But I actually like them better than the 20s now.

They look meatier.

I agree they look good, but I got the 20's as that is what the car I found had. You'll probably have better long term luck with the 19's with pot holes and such. And I agree that they are a nice looking wheel (less spokes). I do not like the all black version of the 20's.

Most of the dealer stock cars have the 20s.

I ordered mine because I had time until my lease was up. Technically, I still have the ‘16 650GC for a while longer. Time for a race. 😈

Yep, I spec’d mine with the 19” wheels. I like them better than the other options and I live in LA, where roads destroy wheels with low profile tires. The tires on the 19’s are far meatier, which I really like. It’s a slightly more old school look which I believe works well with the M5. I’ve had my car for 2 weeks now and I’m very happy with the 19’s.

Also ordered 19" rims, for two reasons:

(1) Over a period of 5 years, driving in NJ, on a f10 550xi msport I went through 32 tyres. I never wore a tire out, instead they all bubbled through the sidewall with a healthy amount of tread. Granted these were runflats so less sidewall give than regular pneumatic structured tyres, but still why go with a tyre option providing less sidewall and thus more prone to damage, damage that may extend to the rim and suspension.

(2) the 19" rim design appears less work to clean - there appears to be few spokes compared to the present 20" option. For me that's time saved during my maintenance wash.

(3) the 19" rim is pretty good looking, and more importantly the tyre's contact patch is the same as that with the 20" option so performance will be identical.

What tires do you get with the 19s? I actually prefer the look, but didn't like that they give you an Advan. I don't know any of the tires other than their track tire. I went 20 in hopes of getting the Michelin which I love

Tyre sizes are:
M5 19" rims come with the following tyre specs:

front: Yokohama Advan Sport V105 275/40-19
back: Yokohama Advan Sport V105 285/40-19

However if you prefer Michelin's once those performance Yoko's are worn out, you can replace them with:

front: Michelin Pilot Super Sport 275/40ZR19/XL(105Y) $305.99
rear: Michelin Pilot Super Sport 285/40ZR19(103Y) $348.99

note the Yoko's cost about the same.

I also think the 19's look better. Hoping to see real life pics of the comp pack 20's soon to see if they really look better than the 19's. I also prefer the meatier tire look than just riding on rims with no sidewall.

I went 20's which is a gamble given the roads in NYC, but I am a fan of the black wheels and wanted the full performance potential of the 20's.
I typically commute locally in the burbs to my office and run into the city couple times a week, so "SHOULD" be ok. lol

I got Pirelli P Zeros on my 19s.
I picked the car up May 7.

Unfortunately 19" is not available in Canada. I would've opted for the 19s even if the 20s are no cost option. For the above stated reasons of comfort, less prone to damage, meatier look and frankly the 19" rim design looks way better.

Had I been able to order the 19" and got the Yokohama tires, I probably will just replace the tires at my own cost and probably try a 285 square setup. You can always try to sell the tires or keep it and put them on when you return the lease or sale the car.

You got P Zeros too.

The inner paint on the rims just about matches my Singapore Gray.

Thanks for sharing! Nice pic. Personally the look of these wheels are better (than the 20's), and if anything BMW should've offered a black variant as well.

Does anyone know if these wheels are cast or forged?

After testing out both, the ride on the 19's is really fantastic and compliant comparing the the 20's. The difference in ride makes it a very comfortable ride.

With the 20's, the car felt much more like a sports car than a sedan. That being said, I'll probably use those in the summer - warm months and 19's in the winter - colder months. I ordered the HRE p101's in dark clear.

I attached photos of the gloss black powder coated 19's and the HRE's on order. With the 19's, I feel that the key is always trying to keep the tires shined up with tire shine. Without it, the car looks to me like Im more or less preparing it for a snowstorm. Photos attached of it with and without gloss as well as the 20's en route. They could be yours too courtesy of Wheels Boutique for the low low cost of $8500 plus tires.

I was beginning to think I was the only person that liked the 19 inchers. In fact my dealer even had trouble configuring them, why I don't know?

At any rate, the build is now in the system, and I'm looking at an early June start.

I'm happy to see such an active F90 following here. It seemed almost non-existent over on that other "FEST" forum. It struck me as odd, since the F10 forum had a good following.

I'm excitedly looking forward to my next BMW, and in the meantime I'll be catching up on all the threads I've been missing here.

I detest the 19s my car has on it. Working on getting rid of them as soon as possible! They look like balloons

I want to see the 19s on a car with a slight drop and spacers. I think it'll look great. The 19s to me are a better design, I wish the same wheel came in 20s

One of my most pleasant surprises on taking delivery of my M5, was how stunning the 19's looked in person. The pictures don't convey the deep dish on the wheel. For me at least, it's a keeper.
