Self service Car wash in Brooklyn
Hey guys, I'm in Williamsburg and wondering if there is any self serve wash bays where I can wash the grime off the car in between proper washes.
I don't have access to water where I live /park. I basically want to be able to just hit the car and wheels with a power hose myself in between the more comprehensive washes that I get done professionally by a Detailer every 3 weeks or so |

None that i know of in Brooklyn or the city. I broke down and bought products for quick maintenance washes and use my mom's and friends hoses. My garage does not have access to water there either. Maintenance washes are expensive and i plan to take advantage of pro washes in the winter when it's too cold to do it myself.

ONR is your friend in these situations. Just use your tap water

All of the self services places blow. I'm on the UES and like going to the guerilla car guys that set up shop Ninth Avenue from 201st Street to 207th in Inwood. One team in particular uses the 2 bucket method with decent sponges. I bring my own micro cloth towels to dry the car because I've seen their towels fall to the ground on occasion. price is $10 bucks. $15 with vacuum.
It seemed a bit dicey the first time but you can't beat the value/quality. There are probably guerilla car washes closer to you. |

When I lived in Brooklyn I would go to a BP gas station on 65 St and 8th Ave in Bay Ridge - they offered self service wash. Check the BP gas stations around Williamsburg if they have it as well.

Same dilemma I had in Queens although it probably applies to Brooklyn too.
I gave up on the search as the most decent ones I found were either in Long Island or NJ. I ended up finding a really great hand wash place not too far from me in Queens that does really great work at a fairly low price.

I have a Detailer in Greenpoint that I use but he's usually pretty busy and I need to make a reservation It'd be good to have a high quality back up option |

For maintenance wash on my ceramic coating, I go to my friend's newly opened detail shop in Flushing, who also did the paint correction/ceramic coating.
