I don't think that's a lowered suspension...that's body roll.

An M5 CS is completely unnecessary. The CS models are supposed to be track focused cars. The 5 series has gotten far too large for that.

It wears the M Performance Pro Spoiler and also features M Carbon Ceramic brakes, standard on the M3 CS and M4 CS. An eventual M5 CS would feature more aero parts (mostly M Performance Parts) than seen on this potential early prototype, unique CS wheels, and different (non-rolled) exhaust tips.
CCB are optional on the M3/4cs...

Sounds and looks cool. But isn't an M5CS and oxsee moron? I thought the 5 Series was the cushy "executive class" with all the bells and whistle's. What is a Club Sport not going to have? 5 Series owners I'm sure won't like not having armrest, LOL.

I think the M4CS is stunning!!! BUT highly overpriced for less stuff. I especially like the staggered 19" front and 20" rear wheels. And and Alcantara with leather interior.

lowered I did not proclaim,
rather - I said ' squat ' looks somewhat compressed - accentuating articulation

Why would the cs use the non-forged 706 wheels rather than the lighter forged 789's or better yet, a newer lightweight design? This just looks like an m5 with m pro spoiler and ccb.

That spoiler is a bit much for an M5. Too boy racerish for an executive saloon.

I seriously don't see a need for a CS version on an executive saloon. But you know, BMW nowadays just want to milk for whatever it's worth, since there is a Turbo S hybrid for Porsche (starting at 180k plus), though I don't think it's likely, but I wouldn't be surprised if BMW made another version of M5 on top of the competition, maybe starts around 130k.

Would get my attention if they added the bmw M4 GTS water injection system that linked a 5psi overboost function.

They did, it’s called the M4 GTS, and you guys didn’t like it. It was expensive, criticized, and didn’t sell - so what incentive to make another?

Sorta. Depends on the market. Down here they come standard.

This day and age even after spending 120K on a standard M5 you only have the base "civic" model. Meanwhile these cars should already come in "competition package or CS form" right from the start considering the premium they cost over the real standard model 540/550.

That's because BMW missed the mark with the M4 GTS, they were too greedy. They marketed the car in the same price bracket as the 911GT3 and AMG GT-S while not quite matching the track performance nor curb appeal of those cars and taking away the trademark DD practicality of traditional ///M cars. The market has responded accordingly, particularly in the US.

I am eager to see what they will do with the M8. The car was built from the onset to be able to be a race car with the M8GTE. An M8CS and/or M8CSL could make for very interesting proposition in the 911GT3RS and AMG GT-R segment.

Agreed about the M8CS/CSL. Could actually compete against the ranks of the top dogs. Car definitely has the looks (exterior wise mainly) and if they have it lose some weight it wouldn't sound like a whale screeching when it's drifting.

BOP helps the M8GTE, otherwise, it would be just like the Bentley Conti GT3. With the Ford GT being mid engined, the Porsche RSR being mid engined, the Corvette going mid engined, the Ferrari 488 being mid engined, only the M8GTE and the Aston Martin Vantage are the front engined stalwarts of that class.

Furthermore, the 8 Series, even in M8 guise, is a GT, and it’s more on the lower luxury side of the GT class. Competing with the Lexus LC500/LC-F (if that ever is produced in a timely manner). M Division will find it hard to have a production car to compete against the AMG GT-R or GT Black Series, let alone a Porsche from the GT series. I believe the Aston Martin Vantage is smaller than the 8 Series/M8, and size wise the M8 is closer to the DB11 range, which the DB range has historically competed against Ferrari’s GT range (all in except horsepower).

So the M8 is kinda stuck in a niche, where a modern day Porsche 928 would be. Panamera Coupe, where are you?

Where have you got that from? CS means Competition Sport, on the E46 M3 CSL meant Coupé Sport Leichtbau.
