If the same performance can be had out of floaters so be it. If not, for that kind of money, why would they cheapen it?
BMW M have always had a crap looking brake setup

Things changed with the f80, but even then, if you don't go ceramics, you get the same calipers as the M lite cars

This floating rear caliper is no different to what the f10 had, and from spy pics what the next g30 m3 has too

AMG and Audi do this too, on my rs3 it even had a solid rear disc lol. AMG's big boy gtr even has floaters on rear with ceramic option, but they put a decorative panel over it to at least hide it

This isn't about performance, it's simply cost cutting

Gold calipers are the carbon ceramic brakes. Blue calipers for the normal steel brakes.

Please take off the $310 M performance side sill decals ... You can't spend all that money on awesome upgrades and then put on that Pep Boys sticker kit

I generally find the new M5 to be a bit dull in appearance, but not this one. Well done sir. Enjoy in good health.

Great car!

I just personally cannot stand the overly obnoxious backfires and pops in all BMW exhausts these days. So artificial and unnecessary.

That thing looks badass. I kind of wish I had the comp wheels after seeing them on Nardo grey (I have black wheels on Bluestone).
