WTF BMW AG

My 2019 Competition arrived at the port last week, and was scheduled to be delivered to my dealer today. My CA just texted me that BMW reps showed up at the VPC today to perform an audit, and no cars are going to be released until it’s done. My cars new delivery date is now next Monday. First world problems, but WTF BMW?!?!?

Yes, but BMW could have managed the process much better. To surprise the VPC and shut down all processing without notice is poor customer service. I had made arrangements to take off work and had already had my insurance company update my policy to transition from the old car to the new one. I had to undo that and will have to redo it again once a firm delivery date can be set.

Again, first world problems for sure, but piss poor customer service on BMW's part.

Call BMW NA Customer Support Line. Tell them your situation and that you are not happy at all and tell them you want a free voucher for a 1 Day M School or like 50% off of your next lease payment. I'm serious. They are usually pretty good about making customers happy. This is what I did when I found out my delivery was delayed from the VPC due to an accident there where my front bumper got destroyed and they had to order a new one. They gave me a free 1-Day M School voucher and $1,200 bucks cash. Lol! No joke! Good luck old friend.

Hey Dave, good to hear from you. I hope all's well. I gave them a call, but as expected nothing. Since it's just a one week delay they said exactly what I expected - that date is an estimate not a promise.

Unfortunately not, which is a contributor to why I was so pissed about the delay. I'm leaving Sunday for a business trip and won't be back until Wednesday. Then I have full work days in the city Thursday and Friday, so that gets me to Saturday the 29th. I don't know if you've been following the threads about the crappy lease programs on the 2019 MY M5s - but the punchline is BMW FS dropped the residuals to 50% from 60% on the 2018s. Since I'm delayed taking delivery until the 29th, I might as well wait a few more days and see if the October lease programs change. So long story short is the one week delay in releasing the car from the VPC pushed my delivery date almost two weeks from 9/19 to 10/2.

Yes I've been keeping up. It's really crazy what they are doing. So many bad deals on the 2019's. In your case I would just wait until October Residuals come out, it's just a couple more days. I hope they would have better rates for October, but the way they've downgraded the 2019's in order to get rid of the 2018's I wouldn't expect too much change.

I'm on a similar boat; car arrives Monday and I'll be in Europe on business until Saturday the 29th. I'm going to wait for October as well although I'm not holding my breath.

Yeah, I’m not expecting any changes to the programs, but I’m afraid of Muphy’s Law kicking me in the ass if I take delivery on the 29th!!!

Well after an excruciatingly long wait to get from the port to my dealer, I heard from my CA this morning that my car has finally arrived. We've scheduled delivery for the afternoon of Tuesday, October 2nd, to see if the October lease program improves from the current program for the 2019s. Also, my CA informed me I won the tire lottery and my car has Michelins and not the Perellis!

Yes. My CA didn't send any pictures of the interior, but I'll post some once I take delivery.

Trust me it's worth the wait! Even more so if the October programs are better!
