Only if you were there - in the same conditions can you chirp. The C7 Z06 is a fail as it is stock from factory. Only the 2019’s are starting to work some of the issues out (giving the ZR1 coolers to it). But the 1.74L tiny - high revving - ROOTS style supercharger - the worst SC type for heat soak - plus poor aero and drag. I love my car - looks great - great interior - great sound - but it needed some serious changes to get it where I needed it. |

This is yet another issue...Gone are the good old days where you knew people’s records were likely legit.
Ranger ran a time - he’s a certified gear banger (befor the auto I these cars) - and most importantly - the numebrs lined up. What I mean by that is the 60’, ET and MPH matched up. Then you come to drivers like Farmer - who show they are going 10.2’s with a C7Z - on DR’s and skinnies - but with a crazy MPH - 137 - where even full bolt on and tune cars struggle - especially with a serious 60’ where you lose MPH. And of course they claim it’s stock. But - over time - having owned one myself and many buddies as well - manual and auto - with heating those poor Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 Tire’s - and miracle DA - you see the C7Z with full horrible aero loses about 2-3 MPH and can only crank out a low 11 - maybe 10.9 to 11.0 pass in real life at 126-128 MPH. As is. Stock. But...if you were to take the F90 M5/M5 CP in the same weather and conditions - the C7Z will lose - as it will likely run 10.7-10.8 or better at 128-130 MPH. Maybe better. We shall find out. |

Totally depends on the DA. Summertime at Bandimere on pure drag slicks you would be lucky to go high 11’s.
ATCO in April on a 30.5 baro day on pure drag slicks mid 10’s Both being the same Zo6 with a decent driver. With the boost controller turned off I’ve raced my TT car at 9.5 seconds at 150mph at a 4500da track, then trailer it to a 1000da track the next weekend and run 9.0 at 155mph off the trailer. No changes. DA is the tail that wags the dog. |

From when the car came out - and was running C6’s - the C7Z’s hit a wall at fourth gear. And C6ZR1’s would pull away. This is because the C7’s have horrid Cd. As they are meant to road course and downforce is good for road coursing. This is confirmed when you look at C6ZR1 traps being about 3 MPH higher on average. I took my stage 3 aero off - and picked up 2 MPH. The issues with the C7Z’s are massive heat soak - the 2017 “fix” did. It fix them as ZL1’s have 11 additional coolers - and the 2019 C7Z’s apparently added some of the C7 ZR1 coolers. Roots style SC’s are the worse for heat soak - smaller higher rpm versions - are the worst of the worst. The C7Z has a 1.74L blower - versus the C6 ZR1 2.3 versus the C7 ZR1 2.65L. It makes a huge difference. This is why I swapped mine out for a Procharger. Aero - downforce and Cd makes the cars mid-top speed slower. GM themselves stated the car Barry has a 180 MPH top speed with full aero. At least that is an easy fix. Again - I love my car - I still have it - sounds great, looks great, interior is nice and drives amazing. Lots of modding to get there though. |

oh, yea my bad. lol You were referring to heat soak, i meant to say i haven't any issue dragging the car. But yea, it A8 is a problem when doing course racing. Luckily i don't do it so i'll never have to worry. You speak like a track guy, so im assuming you have an MT, and do course racing. My buddy has his f90 arriving in about a month. Look forward to doing some rolls against it, digs etc. |

I do have a manual - and I primarily run drags and straight line competitions - this is my C7Z running a standing 1/2 mile competition in Battlecreek. |

Lol - his tires were shot - I didn't even use LC on that run (11.4 to 11.6 lol) - he was on Race PCM - it was a hot day and SC's hate it more than anything - but still not too bad - 133 MPH. Range of 130-133. Still no where near the advertised 140. I don't think anyone has done that. he has run 10.4 on pump gas...so he is sorting it out. Great guy - real racer.
