M5 F90 vs Corvette Z06
I know they're completely different cars for different people but hear me out.
So I had a 2018 M4 Convertible which I sold. It was fun and all but my car had horrible quality issues where the paint was peeling off from random places, interior leather looked wrinkled after only 6 months, etc. So I was disappointed and hated the car eventually and sold it. then I got my an Audi RS3 2018. The car was great but the Audi dealership here in Dubai is the worst dealership I ever dealt with and I did not want to deal with them ever again so I sold the car before it loses more of its value and get a temporary Subaru WRX STI. Now, I was thinking of getting a Corvette Z06 for a while mainly because it looks really nice, super car kinda car and has visceral power. what I don't like about it however is the cheap interior quality, lack of tech since that's where I'd be spending most my time, I figured the M5 with its night and better audio system, tech, infotainment, luxury, features, would make me happier on the long run. I plan to keep the car for at least 3 years and want to stop the habit of constantly switching cars and losing money. What are your thoughts? Without being biased please even though this is a BMW forum. My only gripe with the M5 is that it looks to plain, very similar to any regular 5 series and doesn't have the wow factor that the Corvette offers. PS: Another choice might be a Mercedes C63 S perhaps? |

F90 is quicker than the Zo6 in acceleration. Zo6 is quicker on a road circuit like the Ring. Also, if you want an attention getting WOW FACTOR, get the Zo6. It was a negative for me as everywhere I went people were taking pictures and asking questions. It brings a ton of attention.

Wow, you are talking about choosing 1 between 3 different classes of automobiles: a sedan, a convertible, and a sports car.
You will not like the c63s and it’s lack of traction. As a daily, with power levels at 500+, Awd is a great advantage and you can’t go wrong with the luxury, handling, and super sound system of the M5. If you want more of a wow factor than the factory paint choices can provide, an exotic wrap may be an option.... |

If audio is important to you and you buy a Zo6, budget a total system from the aftermarket. Stock system is terrible.

Believe or not, a brand new M5 gets to 150mph quicker than a 991.1 Turbo, as a result traps higher stock and quicker 60-130mph. In addition you have all the new tech, comfort, space, and better sounding exhaust options.

just got rid of my f10 m5 in Jan, have c7Z now.
If you dont have have a need for 4 doors, and want completely raw power, get the Z06. I have not 1 regret coming from my 610whp m5. It's an absolute animal in almost every gear, power is there, all the time, it's downright scary. I "liked" my m5, but i love my Z. As for the getting attention part, it definitely turns more heads than the m5 (sahkir) and my Z is silver. But nothing crazy, (it's still just a chevy) and i;m in south fla, so these kinds of cars are normal here. If you know you are a tech guy, get the m5 and be done with it. Nav screen in the Z layout is retarded, camera sucks, but the audio actually isn't bad (Bose) As for interior, you need 2LZ at least to be liveable. My best advice i can offer you, is to go drive one, i think you'll find out quickly if you need the tech or not in the Z. |

M5 is a great all around car, I would not want to be in a vette for more than 30 minutes, yeah it gets attention but there are tons of them on the road where you rarely see an F90
F90 is on another level when it comes to class, a vette is just a vette and is work to drive. |

I post this having both...this is my F90 M5 Competition versus a stock version of my (2015) car. 2019 C7 Z06 - bone stock - new owner, it was hot, track was prepped okay, full aero on the Vette, stock crappy PS2's (no good for drags), and it is a manual...

What IS important is that the F90 M5 and M5 CP’s - Family luxury GTs weighing 440 lbs, with four doors and being 16+ feet long are literally exactly as quick and fast as my GTR was back in the day when it was a tune and exhaust car on pump gas.
That is crazy. |
