Correct. AFAIK, there's no way to reset the launch counter nor a workaround to restore full LC functionality.

Note that the car will NOT indicate when it hits the limit, rather, only the shifts will change slowing launch dramatically… but it will still tell you that LC is ready/active.

Show me one and I'll be a happy man. This isn't an uninformed opinion I'm casting here, it's well over 2 years of constant—albeit occasional—research. I'd be elated to be wrong on this one but folks shouldn't get their hopes up.

That said, I heard the aftermarket has finally cracked the latest round of BMW ECU protections so perhaps there's a light at the end of the tunnel… but the TCU is responsible for this particular block so, again, unlikely.

Maybe this had been discussed before, but would the XHP TCU tune reset it? I would think it would because it apparently enables better LC and more pressure and this would be false advertisement if LC doesn't work at all?

Perhaps. Worth a shot.

Remember, though, LC is not disabled—it continues to function as was with one exception: the transmission shifts more slowly.

First run was 11.06@124.75mph
Dragy said invalid because of slope.

Tried again and got a valid run at 11.15@124.14mph

Car is completely stock.

I don't think it's possible to get into the 10s without LC. The required shifts (1-2, 2,-3) just add too much of a delay without the ZF's quick-shift 3 (I think I'm recalling its name properly) pattern.

My '20 M5C with a JB4 ran 10.37 with LC but I don't recall ever getting into the mid or low 10s again--even tuned--without LC.
