Correct. AFAIK, there's no way to reset the launch counter nor a workaround to restore full LC functionality.

Note that the car will NOT indicate when it hits the limit, rather, only the shifts will change slowing launch dramatically… but it will still tell you that LC is ready/active.

There may be away to remove or restart it, usually some tuners auto do this once flashed.

Show me one and I'll be a happy man. This isn't an uninformed opinion I'm casting here, it's well over 2 years of constant—albeit occasional—research. I'd be elated to be wrong on this one but folks shouldn't get their hopes up.

That said, I heard the aftermarket has finally cracked the latest round of BMW ECU protections so perhaps there's a light at the end of the tunnel… but the TCU is responsible for this particular block so, again, unlikely.

Maybe this had been discussed before, but would the XHP TCU tune reset it? I would think it would because it apparently enables better LC and more pressure and this would be false advertisement if LC doesn't work at all?

Perhaps. Worth a shot.

Remember, though, LC is not disabled—it continues to function as was with one exception: the transmission shifts more slowly.

Just bought a dragy and gave it a go.

Altitude was 3752'

First run was 11.06@124.75mph
Dragy said invalid because of slope.

Tried again and got a valid run at 11.15@124.14mph

Car is completely stock.

Yeh I think I can get into the 10's with a good DA. Gonna try again in the morning when the DA is better.
