Hopefully either a cheaper filter kit will come out or you can reuse the plastic drain plug a few times. $47 for a filter is too much, but the BMW plastic housing costs much less than the Weistec. If you pay 2x as much for filter kits, the cost will equal out in a few years with 2 changes per year.

Can confirm the 11 42 5 a33 c43 has the drain plug!
Comes with the other small rubber o ring and the 2 metal ones and a filter and gasket for the cap this just adds the plug compared to the other part number.

Only $21 online for the filter kit.

Yeah I ordered from dealer for free next day shipping and they'll price match to lowest oem supplier rate anyway, so I paid like 22$ for it lol

Sent a request to FCP for them to stock the housing and the filter kit:

"Thanks for contacting FCP Euro!

Of course, I'll send this request on to the folks in catalog let them know there is a demand for it.

I'm here to help with any further questions or concerns!

Best regards,
Jason"

They didn't stock factory M5 plugs for a long time. I emailed them the part number and they were listed on the site within 3 weeks.

Lol I guess let's see how it goes, I sent them pics of the part they stock vs the one we need, with part numbers and they said there's nothing they can do, if they don't have it, they don't have it and that's it, cars too new and it'll most likely be available 3 years or so after model release. In the mean time please buy from dealership if I really need that part.

Honestly I hope they will stock it but even if they don't it's 20$ an oil change so I'm not complaining too much.

Contacted the dealer and apparently those are no longer in the us or something? Lol anyway they put in an order for 2 for me. Should be a couple weeks but I don't need to change my oil till end of the summer.

Hey what size socket is it to remove the new filter cap? Just realized it doesn’t take a normal 68mm or whatever bmw is and it’s bigger than all my sockets.
