The point of an estate, touring, station wagon, whatever the hell you want to call it…

I WANT A PRACTIAL VEHICLE THAT IS NOT A DISGUISED TRUCK.

Trucks handle for shit, have the mpg of Jupiter, and look like Ted Cruz’s ass with the beard transplanted on it.

It’s not the size of most even small SUV’s. It’s big. Yes. It’s five series big. It’s an executive sedan designed for a family of four and all their luggage for a two week vacation. It fills a niche that many appreciate, me included. Not for everyone. That’s the reason they don’t sell well. Plenty of people are okay with a vehicle that handles for crap. Many of us aren’t. BMW’s SUV’s are better than most. But as good as an M estate? No way.

Well said Shawn. I’ve had a few SUV’s, and they all handled like shit (even an X5M goes round corners like you’re driving on custard, when pushing on). I’m not into all this hybrid nonsense, but the M5 Touring has my interest. Unlike the bloated cartoon RS6, which just looks ridiculous.

I would take an i5 touring or an M550e from Europe over the G99 if available. But if this is the only modem BMW touring I can get, I’ll take it.

Great timing to release the G99 late 2024. With the feds planning to begin reducing interest rates in 2024 according to their recently released dot plot, finance rates and lease MF should be lower by SOP.

Nice, but I'll keep my F90. A a general rule, not a good idea to buy a new model car the first year. There are kinks that will need to be worked out in time.
