Damn, that 458 sounds so good. You can barely hear that M5 zip by, even from inside the M5.

EXACTLY...But then again this is a Saloon Car. Is it suppose to be loud and angry like that? We should remember it is, what it is, suppose to be.

Yes. There's the 530, 540 and 550 for those who want a muted car.

Personally, I'd rather an M5 scare the shit out of people.

For the layman (I’m learning all the time!), what are the reasons for the Ferrari getting off so quick? Is it actual power/torque in low gears or ability to plant the power quicker (tyres or something else?) or something else?

BMW recovers impressively I might add!
weight my friend, which is why measuring the two in a straight line is meaningless. I know which one I would be driving on the track, the Ferrari will be long in the distance even before the m5 has cooked it's breaks after 3 corners .

Not surprise to see an NA jumps first vs FI, see it all the time .. great race! And wow on the M5.

But there is an old saying: "if it takes more than 100mph to win, then you have already lost!"

Fortunately for you sir, if the stock M Perf Exhaust just doesn't get it done, there is always a Port installed option prior to delivery, or the auto parts aftermarket.

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

He's driving his car safely. Teaching his young son how to do things properly without being a bell end and hopefully not showing him it's ok to race through residential streets etc.

Safe to do on the right stretch of road - the German gov recognise this, whereas our UK gov prefer to bury their head in the sand and insist on 70mph limit, if not 60/50/40 nowadays
